Denyi Reyes is having a nice start to the year down in Greenville. Probably doesn’t have the stuff to reach the majors, but he doesn’t walk anyone, keeps the ball on the ground, and increased his K/9 from 7.69 to 10.12 this year. At the very least he’s kept Greenville in some games.

Santiago Espinal is playing 3B today for Salem. It’s the first time he’s played third since his very first game in the Red Sox system and only the second game that he hasn’t played shortstop in the last year.

3 affiliates winning, with a total of 3 ER from SPs. Mata with another 'fine' start... too many walks, but for his age a 3.52 ERA still a 'success' at this level.

Sorry if I’m the only one posting here.
Kyle Hart is pretty good at this pitching thing. Career high 8 IP, one earned run, and 6 Ks. ERA is down to 3.22. If you take away his bad AA debut, the ERA drops all the way to 2.19.
Getting more difficult to shrug off his success as he moves higher up the ladder. I don’t know if he’ll be a major league starter-I personally doubt it-but he should be getting a bit more love.
He throws strikes consistently and is a lefty. Maybe a shift to the bullpen could widen his MLB prospects if they don’t think he can make it as a starter.

I wish I could see more of him but based on stats alone he seems to keep the ball in the park. I am very curious to see how long he can remain a starter.

What im just realizing about Hart is that while so many college pitchers seem to advance slowly for Boston, he's not even rule 5 eligible till next offseason despite being 25 (5 years at IU b/c tommy john per SP).
Very little scouting report available, so Id love to see him stay a starter till next july at least... it cant be that hard to toss a lefty in the pen. i just have no idea what his stuff is like. If i had to bet, Id bet regression, given K rate is down, BB rate is up this year, and ground ball ratio way down.

I think the Sox should put Dalbec back on the mound. I liked him as a pitcher better before the draft and nothing he's done at the plate has changed my mind.

If he's above to average fielder, I like him where he's at: .254 IsoP in the Carolina League is borderline elite power and it goes well with his 14.4% BB rate. Yes there's the whiff part but a right handed version of Joey Gallo is a pretty valuable asset to have.
