Thinking of all time worse Sox defensive players who played significant time. Don Buddin gets SS, Joe Foy 3rd, Pete Runnels 2B, Dr Strangeglove 1B, Joe Lahoud (Lebanese not French) RF. Ike Delock starting pitcher. Others? I don't know how you make this lost without Pablo or Hanley in LF on it. Also Edgar Renteria.

He made 43 errors at 3b. Wil Cordero was another "converted" LF and he was pretty brutal, too. Jose Offerman was pretty bad with the glove, too at 2b. Don Buddin might have been worse than Renteria. It was always said that his license plate should read "E6". Dick Stuart was the right call at 1b. Wily Mo Pena was pretty terrible. They played him in CF where he was actually better OF when he was in CF than when he was in the corner OF. Greenwell was pretty bad, too, but not worse than Hanley or Cordero.

I'm OK with letting Swihart catch someone he has caught before in that persons first big league start. I am also OK with Travis in left against a left-handed pitcher. But why Matinez in Right with Vasquez at DH. Why not put Bradley in Right and Martinez at DH? Is Vasquez that much better of a hitter than Bradley against a left hander? Enough to offset the fact that Bradley is so much better in right field?

Swihart with one of the best blocked balls in the season by a catcher this season.
Edit- It prevented at least one run.

Well Beeks it was nice knowing you in Boston. Not a good showing here.

I'll be surprised if he even sees another inning.

I can’t really blame Beeks for that 2 run single. That ball just beat the shift. If the second baseman is where he normally is, then that’s a soft grounder right into the mitt. That home run...well that’s a different story.
Poor kid. He’ll get them next time.

Tonight pretty much ended the Wright versus Beeks debate about who should start in the number 5 spot in the rotation.

Too bad for the kid. But just come back next inning and get some outs. People realize what is going on here.

I get Cora's reason but I would have had Leon catch the kid.

Sox offense gonna get this kid the W. He just needs to go back out there and pitch like a pro.

The evolution of Benintendi is still one of the best stories of the Sox this year.

Tonight pretty much ended the Wright versus Beeks debate about who should start in the number 5 spot in the rotation. This is the kind of ultra rapid reaction you're always good for. Debate over after the 24 year old's 1st MLB inning. He'll be lucky to see the bigs again. Might as well hang em up.
