Betts cooled off from his torrid start, but he handled himself well in his AAA debut.

I presume Nishioka to Lowell is the countermove in Portland.

***SSS and DSL disclaimer***
A couple guys that have “looked” good through the first week or so of the DSL season: Angel Maita, Cedanne Rafaela, and Gilberto Jimenez. Not going to include the big bonus guys in that. Jimenez was mentioned before the season as someone to keep an eye on, but none of them had listed bonuses. Needless to say, there’s not much to be excited about, but those are at least a couple names that I’m going to keep an eye on in the box scores.

Unfortunately Jimenez's 7 game hit streak came to an end today. Only 2 XBH's, but the contact is encouraging and he's definitely someone I am excited about.

I think it's worthwhile noting guys who are playing well and playing every day, or even better, hitting high in the order. I think that goes for all three of those guys as well as the bonus babies. It gives you an indication who to keep an eye on, is all.

I presume Nishioka to Lowell is the countermove in Portland. Close, Greenville. Nishioka has had a SSS hot start to the year.

In addition in Greenville, Diaz down and De Jesus up.
I hadn't realized Greenville was at 24, so Nishioka there makes sense. That said, they're very infield-heavy right now. Looks like Suarez might be set to get a lot of OF time.

Mata done after 5.1 innings; struck out career-best 8, walked career-worst 6 (should've been 4 walks and 10 K, got hosed by the ump) and allowed three hits. Two inherited runners, and one let in, so 1 ER. Great night for him, best start of the season.

Ty Buttrey with eight straight scoreless appearances now, and only one run allowed his last 12 times out. More importantly, he's cut way down on the walks. I said he wasn't sharp when I saw him on 5/11, and that was the last time he walked more than one guy in a game: 17 K and only 4 BB since.

Walkoff win as Roldani Baldwin singles home Santiago Espinal. Brett Netzer matches career-high with four hits. Make that man an All-Star.

He's getting more interesting as a guy that you protect from the rule 5 draft this winter....
