Denyi Reyes is not only putting up ridiculous numbers, but he’s doing it under a workload he’s never seen in game action. He’s already pitched more innings than the last two years combined and it’s not even August yet.

July has been an amazing month for some of the pitchers in the system. Knock on wood because the month isn’t over yet.
Denyi Reyes: 21 IP, 1.29 ERA, 19 Ks, 0 BBs Brayan Bello: 22 IP, 1.29 ERA, 21 Ks, 1 BB Eduard Bazardo: 24 IP, 1.12 ERA, 23 Ks, 0 BBs William Cuevas: 20.2 IP, 1.74 ERA, 23 Ks, 3 BBs Mike Shawaryn: 18 IP, 2.00 ERA, 18 Ks, 4 BBs
And that’s not even counting the fact that Beeks, Jimenez, Kent, and Crawford also have sub-3.00 ERAs for the month. And Houck and Stank at 3.03 and 3.05.
On the reliever side, Gorst hasn’t let up a run since he got to Portland, Feltman is striking out 18 guys per 9, Lakins has evolved into a shutdown reliever, Jake Cosart is finding himself again in Salem, and Joan Martinez is showing incredible flashes in Salem as well.
Furthermore the GCL rotation has combined for a 0.93 ERA this month.
All these numbers mean next to nothing in the grand scheme of things. It’s a tiny sample size. It’s just been really fun watching these guys go out and put up numbers like that all month long. Knock on wood again.

Looks like the Red Sox signed another International Free Agent named Gregori Custodio, who wasn't named originally. He's going to the DSL Red Sox 2 squad

No Trackman guy today, but it hit the top of the batter's eye in center about 400 feet from home, and I'd say that's ~20 feet up there.
EDIT: His 24th of the season and his Salem career, tying him with Brandon Jacobs for the Sox-era (2009-present). Dalbec has done it in 95 games. It took Jacobs 192.

Angel Maita hasn't played since 7/20. That Red Sox 2 team has been decimated by injuries.

Michael Chavis hits a 2-run shot. Having him get back to form would be huge for the farm system.

After a pretty miserable April to June, there's actually been a lot to be happy about in July. Houck has been shoving, strong runs by next-tier guys like Shawaryn and Hernandez, draft picks like Feltman, Duran, and Northcut off to hot starts, GoodDalbec showing up.

Does he have 40 home run potential in the majors? With a 70 Arm at third?

There’s gonna be a bit of roster reshuffling coming for Pawtucket.

Denyi Reyes with the 7 inning complete game. 1 ER, 8 Ks, 0 BBs. So ya know, the usual. I've gotta say, the consistency of his starts is pretty absurd. 110 innings on the year now with a 1.79 ERA and 0.88 WHIP.

What more can he do? He and Kutter could get the bump up. I could see Houck getting a look in AA. Maybe move Daniel Gonzalez to a piggyback role. Nobody else (starting pitching wise) in Salem is ready to get the bump up.

I’m here for the Brandon Jacobs rememberence party Remember this ? Setting, Greenville. Heathcott a huge guy was plunked by a pitch and turned around and sucker punched Vazquez while he was still in the squat. The Drive team raced out of the dugout and Jacobs jumped on Heathcott and pretty much wiped up the field with him.
