Still mad that the Red Sox screwed up and lost Vince Velasquez for what was it? 10 days on the mlb roster?
Nevermind, wrong guy. Now I can't remember who I was thinking of.

Considering he put on 20 pounds in the offseason, it may be just you that thinks that. That doesn't answer his question, re-read. I wonder if he has lost weight now. He could have slimmed down during the season, wouldn't surprise me if he did knowing he isn't lifting weights everyday like he probably does in the off season. I still doubt he's slimmer than last year regardless.

Velasquez is tough. Going to be tough to score tonight with no Betts.

Or maybe the analytics go against what you think and Cora knows what he's doing? Not too crazy of a thought. Anyone who knows lineup construction knows that the best hitter or one of your best hitters of a lineup bats second in the lineup. Don't know why you're making this personal. Not sure how anything they said was personal...But as others said having Xander behind JDM is more likely to get him better pitches to hit. Most pitchers are going to be more careful against him if Holt, Devers, JBJ et al are behind him instead.

Could have went to the game (live 45 minutes from Philly in New Jersey), but decided against it at the last minute. Traffic into and out of Philly is atrocious for night games and not something I want to deal with tonight!

Almost Sept and this team still making stupid outs on the bases.

The pitcher is going to be more careful to Martinez regardless of who is behind him. He's the best hitter in baseball. Plus if there's runners on base in front of him, then you have to pitch to Martinez. There's like 3 or 4 posters that can't stand my opinion on here. It's all good. Just don't get the unnecessary snark.

Almost Sept and this team still making stupid outs on the bases. I had almost the opposite thought. Holt is a dreadful baserunner, but watching him get thrown out it occurred to me that the team seems to be making a lot fewer dumb baserunning mistakes than they did last year or earlier this season, even while they've maintained productive aggressiveness. I feel like Cora has finally cured the Farrell hangover. But Holt's gonna Holt.

Almost Sept and this team still making stupid outs on the bases. You have to admit, people are saying this 10 times less lately.

Scary bad call on ball one to Devers. Too bad he didn't capitalize on it.

Looking like Eovaldi has his swing and miss stuff again tonight. I’m digging that.

Holt was walking pretty gingerly off the field.

Not super efficient, but good results. Anyway, bullpen is largely rested.
Hard to complain about anything right now.

Take him Holt, this guy is buzzing the tower too much.
Edit: That'll do.

Oh good lord. Bases loaded and the ball hasn’t left the infield. Accept this gift and pound the ball, please.
edit. If I knew Mitch Moreland was taking requests, I’d have specifically asked for a grand slam.
