Missing Shaq Mason was pretty huge yesterday. There was almost no room to run all game and Brady also had very little time to throw.
I was watching the Rams/Seahawks game which was amazing btw, and Gurley would be 5 yards down the field before the first person could even touch him. This is why running backs are so interchangeable. It's all about the o-line. Michel had no chance.

Not only was Mason out but Brown was dealing with an illness and only played like 50% if the snaps. Heck even Cannon came out for 4 snaps, that is a ton of moving parts. Plus no Gronk.
The Patriots played a so so game basically overlooking the Titans while not at full strength and that team full of ex-patriots had this game circled. They played their best game of the year.
Yea you need a good O line, but good RBs also can make your line look good. Bill just spent a first round pick on a RB, yet everyone keeps trying to act like they mean nothing. If anything I think football is reversing course and starting to see the value in good RBs. A guy like Kamara is why we took Michel so high. He's a weapon and can't just be easily replaced by any RB. Look at the trend, RBs are being drafted in the first round again.

umass - Josh Adams is really looking good in his first few games. 9/61, 7/47 and 5/40 so far in today's game in last 3. Thought you'd like to know since I know you're a ND guy. I think he'll be one of the main backs going forward, even after the 8000 injured Eagles players return.

The fact is the Patriots might not control their own destiny to the 2 seed. The game against the Steelers is now a must win. The Patriots might also be playing all the way until end of week 17 in the season instead of taking game 16 off like they usually do. If the Patriots play that divisional playoff weekend, their superbowl chances might go right down the toilet. Mock me all you want, the outlook of the season is getting worse as the season goes along. The Patriots usually look stronger as the season goes along. Not this year. |

Divisional weekend is the round played after Wild Card weekend, there is no avoiding the Divisional weekend unless you get eliminated.
Just last year the Patriots had to win a late season game in Pittsburgh in order to get homefield advantage against them in the inevitable AFCCG showdown. Since it's NFL football the Jaguars got there instead.
The most successful Patriots teams generally face adversity on their path to the SB, and the two hottest early-season Patriots teams fell short and were running on fumes by late in the year. There's reasons to worry, but this is far from unprecedented. If the Patriots get right they can win anywhere, if they don't it won't matter.

By some miracle, the Chiefs lost. If they can somehow lose one or two games the rest of the year, maybe the Patriots can pass them somehow. That offense might not lose another game though. They lost a game when they scored 51 points lol.

Man the Jets are stupid. They had a offensive pass interference call on 3rd and 2 yards to go. They chose to accept the penalty and elect to have another 3rd down play in the red zone and boom TD Patriots on the 2nd 3rd down try.
Just stupid. Like they're try to lose here.

Michel finally looks good and healthy, which is awesome. He's had a lot of good runs that were taken away due to dumb penalties, but I'll take any positive on this team at this point. Gronk is playing too, which is another positive.
