The B's have a hard time with the Caps, glad to see them go.
It's a long road but I like our chances a whole lot more after this first round apocalypse.

LOVE how the Boston teams support each other. Jaylen leading the charge in Game 1 tonight.

Coyle is from my hometown. I don’t know him, but obviously a lot of people I know well are close to him and his family - people are so amped up. He’s been great in the playoffs. Nice to see. Your hometown rocks!

Tough game last night, lots of hitting and chirping. After not having more that 1 day off between games in weeks the B's could use a little rest and it showed last night as the game went on and in OT.
The bottom 6 are playing good, time for the top 6 to step up.
CBJ have been playing great but the B's beat them 6-2 in Columbus at the end of the year when they were fighting to get in the playoffs. Are the B's just a little fatigued? I think Backes needs to get some time, it is his style of game.

Crazy stat of the day:
Bobby Orr had the best +/- season of all time in 70-71 of +124. Wayne Gretzkys best was 100. In all Orr had 7 seasons of 54, 55, 55, 84, 83, 80 and 124 while in his prime and not injured. Best player of all time!

Anyone? Bruins up 3-0, Celtics and Red Sox laid eggs

Tonight's game was really enjoyable to watch. Though when you look at the boxscore the Bs were out-shot, out-hit and had more penalty time!

Columbus had so many chances along the way. I assumed it would end up 3-0 the other way. Bruins got away with a lot of sloppy play in their own zone.
Congrats Bs, you are the best game in town!

In my 50 years of watching the B's I have seen them be on the losing end of many games like this one. Having the other teams goalie stand on his head along with multiple hit posts, sure feels good to get one like that for us this time.
They have a doable path to the Cup!!

I had a really weird dream last night that the Bruins had lost this game, like Columbus had tied the game somehow late in the third and it went into overtime and they won. Reality is just so much better.

Sometimes you need your goalie to win one for you and Tuuka did that. They hit the post a bunch of times but on all but one Tuuka is there for the save if the puck is inside the goal posts so I don’t see that as luck in any way shape or form. Better team won last night in my opinion.

I've been watching the Hurricanes for the first two series and you'll be wise to not be looking at the Cup Finals yet. That is one incredibly conditioned and disciplined team, to the point like I've never seen before. Kind of exactly like how Rod Brind'Amour was as a player. The Islanders and Capitals both were completely physically and mentally finished at the end of those series. And that's with the Hurricanes losing a player or two or three just about every game, playing with a short bench.

I seriously can't understand why anyone likes hockey anymore after watching a few games of the playoffs. I was exclusively a hockey fan for years after the 94 baseball strike but this is not hockey anymore. It's a bunch of whiny shrimps pretending to get hurt and diving all over the ice with penalties handed out for checking like it's women's hockey. Whoever is most favored by the league will almost always win. And the league prefers diving assholes to physicality. The playoffs has the intensity of some C-league games I used to play in. This

Either speak to the 2nd point or don't. I'm not going through it again. I scream at the Canes to stop playing like p*****s all game. And the other teams are no better at that. The only reason why Marchand is even alive is because they changed the rules to suit cheap shot artists.

You have to admit not all the changes are bad.... first and for most I wouldn’t call Marchand a cheap shot artist. Matt Cooke was; Marchand is a pest. He used to stick his leg out and cheap shit like that but these days it’s a lazy slash, or stepping on a stick or licking a guy. He’s not someone who’s injuring people. But the overall point stands. He’d get a beat down 10-15 years ago... But.... c’mon you have to admit that getting rid of the 2 line pass was an amazing long over due change. Eliminating the race to the puck for icing was a dumb change tho.

First of all in your first post you state 4 things that are not true in the least as far as I am concerned, not even close. Not even worth debating. Then after stating how much you hate the game and can't even watch it you want me to believe you watched all of the Canes games and they are the best you have seen at what? Hustling? Not sure why I even bothered responding.

Not sure why I even bothered responding. Nope, they wore out the Caps and Islanders. In game 6 of the Caps series, they scored 3 goals in the 3rd to win the game facing elimination after being down 2-1 early. In game 7 of the Caps series, they went to 2 OTs and outshot the Caps 18-6 in that time while on the road. They outscored the Islanders 6-1 in the 3rd period or OT of the 4 games. The one goal the Islanders scored in the 3rd brought the score to 5-2 with 90 seconds left in the game so it was meaningless. They completely dominated the ends of those games. The other teams looked exhausted and the Canes were playing like it was their first shift. This despite playing shorthanded for many of those games. That's a little more than just hustling. I did watch every minute of every game.

Nightmare for sure lol. It was just so random that I'm not even sure it qualifies as anything other than a mindf*ck.

Jimed, we shall see. I never count my chickens in playoff hockey as anyone can get hot and win, which goes directly against your 2nd opinion about the league getting who they want to win. Hockey is less predictable in the playoffs than any other sport.
I do have to say I am glad the B's are facing the Canes rather than the Caps or Bolts. On paper they are the best team standing, with the hottest goalie.
In regards to the way the game is played, I like it. Still plenty physical with a lot more speed and talent. I played for a long time and played very physical, not that it matters, but I love the way the game is played now. It is faster and entertaining, but hey we are all entitled to our opinions.

Yeah I totally get what you're saying, I've been having some really weird dreams and waking up completely disoriented. Maybe there's a reason and we're on the verge of something really insane going on.

Dumbest powerplay I've ever seen awarded in the playoffs in my entire life and the Bruins take a 3-2 lead in the 3rd period.
