Brutal. Wonder if they insert Backus in for a little "heavier" play.
Too many mistakes.
Cant blame Tuukka for that one (though I'm sure many will try)

Meanwhile, TB (after dominating the league) is down 0-2; headed to Columbus and could be without their leading scorer.

I like the idea of Backes getting ice time, he has tons of playoff experience. The Tuukka haters will always blame him. He is a very good goalie but for the most part he hasn't delivered the kind of play you need to win in the playoffs, doesn't stand on his head but is reliable.
TB losing is surprising but anything can happen in hockey, it is unlike most sports in that way. Greatest Bruins team of all time lost to a rookie phenom goalie in 71 playoffs. Dryden could stand on his head.
I'll never forget the 2011 Cup season. Went to a bunch of games all season and the playoffs. When they lost the first 2 at home to Montreal I posted on FB that it wasn't over and they would come back. Well they did and I was there when they won game 7 in OT. Just sat there after the game soaking it in, beating the Habs in game 7 OT was pretty damn satisfying after all those years of losing to them in the playoffs. They need a win today.

I seriously can't understand why anyone likes hockey anymore after watching a few games of the playoffs. I was exclusively a hockey fan for years after the 94 baseball strike but this is not hockey anymore. It's a bunch of whiny shrimps pretending to get hurt and diving all over the ice with penalties handed out for checking like it's women's hockey. Whoever is most favored by the league will almost always win. And the league prefers diving assholes to physicality. The playoffs has the intensity of some C-league games I used to play in.

You forgot to say "Get off my lawn!" Or more seriously, when you start to pay athletes millions you get more concerned about their long term viability (this is true in all 4 major sports).

Whomever is most favored to win is down 0-3.
Speaking of which, when does Colunbus go from the team that makes it easier for Boston (or Toronto or Pittsburgh or . . . Insert team name here) to make it to the cup to the team that just might win the cup.
Completely dominating TB.

Well deserved too, TB played like ass. Can't decide between them and the Penguins for the sorriest team.

They are going to have to make some moves this offseason. They are shy of 9m under the projected cap and have Brayden Point to resign. They also have to sign, at least, 1 top 4 D (2 if you feel Sergachev is a specialist) and bring back or sign (or just move non-roster guys onto the roster which will take up space) some bottom 9 forwards.
Busy busy. I guess the good news is that they'll have plenty of time to prepare for the offseason.

The B's chances of winning the Cup are now a little bit better!!
I can see them doing it. How many teams have the depth to over come injuries and still be strong? The B's are sitting different guys alternately and will have others getting healthy. The playoffs in hockey can be a test of attrition.
I am Boston spoiled and I want a Cup.

Alright! Nice stuff tonight, way to hang on during the 2nd period and some beautiful defensive pressure in the 3rd. Kuraly with an absolute masterpiece to basically get the game. I'm hyped!

Home ice thru the Cup... if Vegas loses tonight and the Caps tomorrow they’ve been given a gift.... in hockey anyone can win but man the path has been paved

Nice win and nice that the deadline guys made an impact. Coyle is from my hometown. I don’t know him, but obviously a lot of people I know well are close to him and his family - people are so amped up. He’s been great in the playoffs. Nice to see.

Rask was the MVP of that game and that is what wins Cups, a goalie standing on his head. Winning the Cup would be awesome but Rask playing great would be the cherry on top as so many doubt him, would love to see him convert the doubters.
Is it just me or is Bergeron not 100%, seems like he is just ordinary out there. Wouldn't be surprised if he has surgery on something when it is all over. Hope I am wrong and he picks it up soon.

Just saw this... this is craziness. Playoff hockey is the best of all 4 major sports and it’s not even close. Has the game opened up a little more and do they not allow goons to hurt guys? Sure they try to limit that but the intensity of the games is still very high. Not saying some games aren’t off but for the most part they are. And I know you wrote this before this happened but the results of the first round pretty much proves the NHL isn’t letting who they want win.

Would the Bruins have home ice vs Calgary? They both have 107 points. They’re the higher seed but the Bruins won the season series.

Caps are DEAD! I know you shouldn't pick opponents and you know we could get Tampa'd next round as well, but man I feel great about the other teams in our way.
