Billy Wagner never really figured out the walks and was still an elite closer. Barnes doesn't quite have Wagner's stuff, but it's very good. I'm not thrilled with the idea of him being the closer next year, but I feel like I hate it less than the other apparent options. Brasier could close next year. I'm always skeptical of guys who come from nowhere to sustain it, even as good as Brasier has been. But yeah, he'd obviously be in the mix. |

We have 5 runs in the last 4 innings. Yup. Scored in the last 4 innings and 6 of 8 tonight. Seems like the Sox generally bunch their runs with 1 or 2 large numbers but 8 runs in 8 innings with no more than a 2 on the board. Meanwhile, we need Kimbrel to shut them down for the 3rd and 4th consecutive innings. My knees are shaking. ... Mookie!!! |
