Cora's possible thoughts - Kimbrel is the closer and a championship has to go through the closer. And...some indication Kimbrel may have been tipping - three run lead gives him a chance to work on some modified windup/mechanics.
Meaning
In Cora I Trust

Cora obviously knows something we don’t. It’s not like he doesn’t remember Kimbrel’s recent outings. If he’s pitching it’s because our manager thinks it gives us the best chance to win. Might not work out, but if Cora thinks it’s fhe right move then I’m good with it. Good point. I’ve certainly learned to strongly (not blindly) trust his judgment.

If Kimbrel walks the first batter do you take him out? Gotta have someone warming up too?

Now I’m regretting not buying that automated defibrillator on Amazon. Pretty sure I’m going to need it in the next ten minutes.

You know, Eovaldi did throw 92 pitches two days ago. Taking it for granted that he has another inning in him seems silly. Rationality has no place here!

And Correa swings at the first pitch? Why?

I think its less Eovaldi coming out and more Kimbrel coming in. I would much rather have Kelly, ERod, or even Hembree. Agreed.

If he’s close to the zone we’ll be ok. If he’s not close then we are in trouble

I love Cora, but yeah this is maddening.
Kimbrel has been wild. He has been hit hard and has been bailed out by his defense more times than he has recorded a k.

Price turned it around, now it’s Kimbrels turn.

Heh, Kimbrell needed to work out some kinks so...what the hell. He's already shot his game 7 starter and his game 6 starter was in the hospital yesterday so what the hey...
I take back everything I said before about Cora and stepping on the other team's throat.
