I understand. So don't complain when the next middle infielder gets his career ended by a hard slide. Such slides are also now illegal. Doesn't preclude the slides from happening, as I think we've seen. |

Unless I'm an idiot, and I generally am, all you have to do is begin your slide before you reach the base, remain in contact with the base, and not intentionally change your path to contact the fielder. Still a lot of contact can occur in this scenario legally. |
