Kelly ERA is 18.00 Do we got anybody that high? I hope so because you have to be pretty high to withstand watching Heath Hembree.

Why is Vazquez swinging for the fence. A solo shot when down by 4 runs doesn’t help us Cause he's a terrible hitter with a horrendous approach. Instead of going with the pitch and hitting depending on the situation. He acts likes he has that Mike Pizza swing and swings as hard as he can every pitch.

The biggest positive of the season so far is maturation of devers. His defense still has a long way to ago but he seems leaps and bounds a better hitter than he was same time last year

So.....when does the 2019 season start anyways?
Maybe the Red Sox are trying to start the season 2-17, just to try something different.
It's amazing how they've been losing during most of the five games. They've had leads for something like 3 innings? And their pitchers are giving up HR after HR after HR, while the Sox haven't really been able to put together a really big inning yet. I mean, how badly have the Red Sox been outhomered these five games?

It was always a matter of pitch selection and not constantly swinging from the heels.

I’m beginning to think the Red Sox should’ve taken spring training a little more seriously.

I’m beginning to think the Red Sox should’ve taken spring training a little more seriously. When I commented earlier that I thought the Sox wouldn't win 100 this season, I said it was reasonable to expect that they'd lose 6 games off the pace in the first 20. It appears I wasn't being reasonable.

Activating Pearce and Pedey...DFA of Hembree and Nunez? Please??? Can they start? Seriously, wtf is going on? If these starters just pitched to their ave ERA or FIP, the Sox would be at worst 3-2 right now.

They aren't ready for the regular season yet.

Could the pitching staff need a little bit of Sandy Leon? With all the focus on pitching why is a catcher with one of the best if not the best catching era's in basball last year get no credit?
I am sick of seeing Vazquez try to back hand pitches in the dirt!! What ever happened to him being an above average defensive catcher? The Sox have enough offense to cover for a whole and Vazquez isn't much better at the plate anyways.
Frustrating start but it will turn around.

Vazquez does not cause command issues. This was supposed to be The Best Starting Rotation In Baseball, if my memory from last week is accurate. I know catcher defense is important and all, but short of duct-taping the mitt to his ass and trying to receive the ball while chatting with the people behind home plate, I don't really see how a Vasquez can be blamed for turning Sale and Friends into a group with a collective ERA over 11... Anyway, it's April second.

There isnt enough performance to determine if there is a catching variable to the starters bad pitching, but it isn't unreasonable to point it out.
