Wonderful...
I added MiLB to my MLB subscription as a package. Then after all that went through, I get a notice that my MiLB has been automatically renewed. I replied that I already was subscribed through MLB, please don't double bill me.
Now, I'm unsubscribed, can't watch anything, my credit card shows paid twice once to MLB and once to MiLB and the link they sent me to correspond doesn't work.

Nice start for Darwinzon. Strikes out the side on 10 pitches.

In my head, every Darwinzon start: Having been on a massive anime binge lately, not to mention exploring 90s glory days on Spotify, I must say, this was perfect. Reminds me a bit of the “Blue Skies” sequence in “The Wall.” Nice one, Chris.

Latest shows Darwinzon with 8 ks and 2 bb in 4 innings, with just 53 pitches, 62% strikes. It’s not Maddux efficiency, but a 106-pitch pace over 8 innings is pretty solid, and it’s remarkable for his walk and K rates. He’s looking more and more like someone who, if he doesn’t hurt himself with walks, will achieve great things. His stuff is just incredible.

He's done for the day. 5IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 10Ks, 4BBs. Was pulled after 73 pitches. Command was off a bit in the 5th. Solid start.

A little surprised they pulled him with prob another 15-20 pitches in the tank, but I’m guessing with the two BB in the fifth they were concerned he might have had trouble finishing up before the pitch count got too high. First start of the season and all... He’s def gotta work on control and efficiency, but his stuff is so good even just average or slightly worse command and he’s robably still a successful MLB pitcher. He and Mata (who had tons of control/command issues last year) having strong first starts is really encouraging.

I'm not surprised they pulled Darwinzon. He's got a good annual IP progression and I'd prefer gas in the tank toward the end of the year.
Dalbec and Witte with nearly identical lines. Both 3/4 with a HR.

Casas playing 1B, Howlett 3B for Greenville. Thru 7, the infield of Casac, Pedroia, Williams and Howlett has turned 3 DP.
And yes, Chavis played 2B for the PawWorSox. Was the second man on a strikem out throwem out DP.

Liking the MiLB scoreboard format. Hope it continues without hiccups. You mean the new version, linked in the Gameday thread? Or the old box score links, from the next post? My goals is to have the box score links integrated into the Gameday thread in the next day or two. And I'll keep the new MiLB format as well.

And don't forget how long he was in MLB camp getting looks out of the bullpen. He's probably a week behind the other guys in terms of his progression, which is fine but just means a pitch count of 70-75 for this one.

Dalbec with another mammoth home run. Wonder how long until he gets promoted Considering that he has a 35% strikeout rate and an unsustainable BABIP that mean his numbers are coming down at some point once we leave SSS land, not for a while.

It was a very Dalbec-ian series though. 1 for 10 with five strikeouts in three games, then 3 for 4 with a bomb.

I don’t see why Dalbec can’t be a 35-40 home run, 100 RBI, 75 BB plus, .800 OPS guy per year...with 200ks and .220-.230 average. Along with good glove at 3b and a great arm. Ill take that

Ill take that The problem would be that if he's has a K% of say 30% in the minor leagues against lesser pitching, it might translate to between 35 - 40% in the major leagues which means he could struggle to even reach the Mendoza line. So that would severely depress his OBP and even his SA as singles can help keep a SA decent. He still really needs to cut down his Ks. If he got it down to 25% in the minors then maybe he can carve out a career as a .225 hitting 35 HR guy striking about about 30% of the time or so in the majors.. That's not all-star caliber by any stretch, but perhaps he's a regular, but at some point I think you need to be able to put the ball in play. That's definitely 1 huge advantage the Red Sox exploited over most teams last year. Cora even mentioned something about guys hitting .210 with 30 homers. I forget the context but it wasn't a positive statement he made about those kinds of hitters.

The issue is that Dalbec is striking out at a ridiculous level against A-ball pitchers (and SSS AA). He needs time to develop. Major league pitchers would feast on him right now. Dalbec is one guy I would not want to push quickly right now.

There's absolutely no reason to rush Dalbec. Let him take his time. They don't need him in Boston. Chavis and Devers are ahead of him.
