A rare sighting, an actual flyball:
Jarren Duran flies out to left fielder Grant Fennell.
Thad Ward struck out the side in the first. Greenville up 1-0 after 1. Jhonathan Diaz didn't walk anybody in the first, Salem down 5-0

what a crappy bunch of losing affiliates. Look at the bright side man, the system is absolute sh*t right now but it produced a legend like Michael Chavis out of absolutely nowhere. Now we only need Duran's BABIP to be completely sustainable so we can punt JBJ and it's golden.

Positives: Outstanding stuff from Mike Shawaryn - needed only 99 pitches to get through eight innings, no earned runs allowed, 14 ground ball outs.
CJ Chatham came into today 3 for his last 25, and went 5 for 7 in the doubleheader.
Tanner Houck with a bunch of hits allowed, but he hasn't given up a homer yet this year.
Pedro Castellano 14 for 27 during his seven-game hitting streak.
Brandon Howlett showing really good patience, he walked three more times tonight (as well as getting a single).

My comments were tongue firmly in cheek. It is individual performances that is most important, not wins and losses especially with the constant movement of players up and down. It seems silly to crown a champion in the minor leagues.

Deiner Lopez coming through with our first position player pitching of the year. Scoreless 8th for Salem.
