Casas is carrying a 2:1 career GB:FB ratio, so there’s definitely room to improve there. With his raw power he should certainly be elevating more. Idk what the folks who’ve seen him in person would say, but I wonder if he’s trying too hard to pull and rolling over a lot of pitches. That said, if he finishes the year with a .252/.322/.505 triple slash (0.070 IsoD and 0.253 IsoP), and roughly 40 doubles/25 HR, I’ll be pretty happy. Given how he’s done lately, after a real slow start, he seems a fair bet to surpass that line, too. Telson I know you tend to be on the more optimistic side of things, but 25 HR (and 65 XBH) in Greenville would be better than it might seem on the surface. I'm only going back to 2012 (as this site tracks on the stats page), but nobody has hit 25 HR in Greenville...in fact, nobody has hit even 20 HR, let alone a 19-yr-old in his first professional season. Now some of that is due to promotions (Dalbec hit 13 in 78 games), but still thats a mighty high bar for this level. Not saying he can't do it, but some context is needed for how impressive that would be.

Interesting. I was looking at spray charts for some of our Sox. Even for fast guys there are almost no infield hits to the right side yet Duran has 4.

You’re kinda hitting my point: I’d be happy (pleasantly surprised) if he put up that line over a full season (basically his “pace”). It *is* good, in a way that I think some people might discount for the strikeouts and the lower-end BA/OBP. 0.252/.322 isn’t particularly impressive until one factors in age and the IsoP going with it. So I think we’re kinda saying the same thing. What we’ve seen so far is pretty encouraging. Anyone with complaints can look at Chavis’s first full season for perspective.
