They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

They are the gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe. They are the filthy remnants of an upper decker bathroom run. They are the stench of a rotting animal carcass. They are the MFY. Beat them down !!!!!

Yeah you have a advantage at every pitching matchup this series. You need 3 out of 4 in this series.

For the people complaining about Benny leading off, instead of Mookie.

Need to win game 1. Restore the mystique of Chris Sale vs. the MFYs

Oh boy I'm not feeling good about this series lol. Ahh, this might the reason why Don lol. And they don't even have Judge, Stanton, or Gregorius back yet, plus no Betances yet either. Don't think they have Hicks back yet, too. And they're not getting Severino back for awhile and not getting Andujar back at all this season. It's quite remarkable what they've done, no matter how loathsome that franchise is.

So without all these guys, is what the yankees doing sustainable? Can we expect some regression back to the pack?

So without all these guys, is what the yankees doing sustainable? Can we expect some regression back to the pack? I think so. They've have had the easiest schedule to start the year. They've faced the Orioles 12 times for example. No one else in the league has faced them more than 7 times.

It'll be awesome if Shawaryn can fill a role in the bullpen at least this year. They need all the help they can get. Rooting for you Shawaryn.
Not changing your picture to my avatar. Not going down that rabit hole again.

Mookie is batting leadoff tonight with Benni in the #2 spot followed by JDM, X, and then Devers.
Pearce is at 1b.
And Nunez is playing 2b (Oh joy!). Chavis is off.

I'm excited to see what Shawaryn and Taylor look like in the big leagues, either could fill a big role. Agree. The club has open spots for guys who can get the job done, these guys have a great opportunity.

Game postponed. Rescheduled as a August 3rd double header.

Game postponed. Rescheduled as a August 3rd double header. What a letdown. Yankees get to make up a game later in the year when they could be more healthy and now they don't need to use a opener in this series, which was a huge opportunity for the Sox.

Game postponed. Rescheduled as a August 3rd double header. Shoooot !!!! True, but in August the Sox might also have finally put it together. A healthy Eovaldi, Wright, Moreland, a deadline RP will contribute to this.

Velazquez to the IL with a lower back sprain, Shawaryn called up, added to the 40 man.

Line-up: Betts RF, Benintendi LF, Martinez DH, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Pearce 1B, Núñez 2B, Bradley CF, León C, and Sale LHP
So Chavis was ostensibly “just getting a night off” last night according to Cora, but Nuñez starting again tonight.
Please, Mr. Dombrowski, just DFA Nuñez for the good of the team and to save Cora from himself.

Got to figure that the analytics think Nunez is a much better option than Chavis vs. Happ. You would of course never tell the media that.
Any word on who starts tomorrow, Porcello or E-Rod? That's a very interesting decision.

Interesting lineup. Also, Vasquez has hit Happ decently. Perhaps they are going with Leon for defense. With German going tomorrow for the Yankees, it would seem tomorrow would be a better day for Leon to catch.
