They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Now, THIS will be an interesting series. Let's see if our staff can turn off the MN Dinger machine.

I hope the Twins lay down for us like they do for the MFY. Bringing back an oldie but goodie. o

This series will be telling if this team is turning it around or not. The Red Sox did what they needed to in order to split with the Rangers and sweeping one of the worst teams in baseball. This is another litmus test in a season in which they've failed just about them all.
I'm very interested in how this team performs in this series. Maybe they needed to beat up on a bad team to get going again, then again, they swept the Royals and then got pounded by the Rays.

This team is too good to continue with the two steps forward two steps back path. This team steamrolled through the post season last year.

The Sox are collecting utility pieces. They signed Chris Owings and he'll end up in Pawtucket. Renda or Gorkys could be opting out.

Oh come on, Benny - this is going to be a tough series - no need to run into outs. Didn't we solve this yet?

After looking at his stats, um well. Hmm. Maybe he gets hot.

So far we have good Rick. Still, with his propensity to give up gopher balls, playing this team makes me nervous. I'd love to see our bats come alive and get at least half a dozen in this game.

Curious, I thought Targets went out of business long ago.

Curious, I thought Targets went out of business long ago. Target is pretty common here in Raleigh (pronounded tar-JAY !)

OK, I remember living in Riverside CA maybe late 80's and they closed a Target Store that was pretty much brand new. Maybe they did a Trump.

Devers has been chasing lately, it seems. That is OK, but when he was hot, seemed like he barely struck out.
