Give Jason Pennini (ProspectsLive) a follow on Twitter if you want some Lowell scouting looks over the next couple of days:

Casas is back in the lineup. He’d been out since the 28th.

Is there some nickname that I don't know about or was that a typo (BD)?

Sign me up on the Aldo Ramirez train. Talked to a few scouts who are quite impressed by him.

I must be dyslexic because I was resigned about the fact that we signed Barry Bonds son and I missed it.

I’ll tell you, It’s great to have one hitter in your lineup that scares the life out of pitchers like Bobby. A guy with 70-80 raw power who can take you out at any moment.

The reports I've heard indicate that he his fastball is getting a lot of weak contact and lots of GBs. I haven't yet seen him in person.

From WEEI this AM
Thursday was another rough night for Tyler Thornburg, who gave up a two-run homer as the only hit in an inning of work in Pawtucket, bringing his ERA at Triple-A back up to 13.97. Thornburg has been unfathomably bad in his rehab stint with the Paw Sox, and with his assignment up soon, he seems a likely DFA candidate when the time comes.

I haven't yet seen him in person. He's more than holding his own at age 18 in Lowell. He also only has 4bb's in 19ip. That's pretty freakin good so far for someone his age.

Sittingstill's picks look about right to the profile which says 6'0" 180. I'm guessing the profile wording is dated because that's not really undersized for an 18 year old.

I realize minor league wins aren't that important and what not, but at some point Greenville has to stop hitting Brannen leadoff, right?

I realize minor league wins aren't that important and what not, but at some point Greenville has to stop hitting Brannen leadoff, right? He’s still only 20. If you’re not giving up on him (which they aren’t and shouldn’t), you want to give him the most opportunities you can. Let him keep hitting leadoff. He’s at least improved a little since his last time in Greenville so it’s not like he’s getting any worse.
