I was disappointed that YPA wasn't pitching when I went to see Lowell. I had forgotten ramireja had already pointed out in a previous gameday thread that Aldo was 3 years younger than anyone else on the staff and he was the guy to watch. Ramirez had 7 k's (all swinging) in 5 shutout innings when I saw him.

I realize minor league wins aren't that important and what not, but at some point Greenville has to stop hitting Brannen leadoff, right? He’s still only 20. If you’re not giving up on him (which they aren’t and shouldn’t), you want to give him the most opportunities you can. Let him keep hitting leadoff. He’s at least improved a little since his last time in Greenville so it’s not like he’s getting any worse. Hitting leadoff is hard though. You kind of wonder if it amplifies the pressure some. And it's not just his development they're focused on - a few more PA with a man on base would probably benefit the guys who usually bat 2-5--Esplin, Casas, Granberg, etc. But you also don't want to pile on a guy who is struggling by moving him down in the lineup. It's a tough balance.
