Writing to let our members know that the staff and moderators made the unanimous decision yesterday to ban pedrofanforever45. In the interest of transparency, we thought it was best to post here publicly in order to make sure everyone could have a high-level understanding our decision-making process. At the same time, we will not be sharing every detail that has gone on behind the scenes for the past few years, because we don't want to drag his name through the mud. We hope that you can respect that.
In general, we try our best not to ban members, especially ones who contribute regularly. We have not had to ban many members over the 16 year history of the site. We can usually work things out through discussion, coaching, and warnings. For a few years now, pedro fan has pushed the boundaries of what we found to be acceptable. That was frustrating for us, and we received comments and complaints about it from several members, both rookies and veterans. But we generally determined that his contributions outweighed those frustrations, and sometimes things got temporarily better after we talked with him. However, over the last few days we decided that it would be better for the forum to go this route. We understand that this will be an unpopular decision for some of you, and we apologize for that. As a high-volume, high-visibility poster we have no doubt that some of you formed bonds and friendships with him. In the interest of maintaining the high-quality discussion and friendly atmosphere we are committed to, we felt this was the best path.
Sincerely,
The SoxProspects Staff
