Just an abysmal play call by Stevens. The Heat are moving the ball on every possession, the Celtics are all iso ball and have been for several minutes. Very bad blown game. Either Stevens got schooled completely or the players decided to do isos out of thin air every possession. Just bad basketball down the stretch. Kemba unfortunately does not look like himself. I love him and his effort, but dude is 2-18 from 2 the last 11 quarters and getting absolutely cooked on defense. Amazing block by Bam though. My wrist hurt watching that lol

Have you watched the team continuously cough up leads late? Yeah it's frustrating. Yet I don't get calling losses before it happens repeatedly either. It’s my reverse mush process WCP gets it just ignore it

Going back over the stats from the 4th and OT just backs up what I saw happen live. The Heat went 13/21 for 62% FG%, 6/10 from deep and got 11/14 FTs. That's not going to keep happening over a full series. For the game the Heat were 47.1% and 44.4%, while we were 44.3% and 35.7%.
The Heat basically just played a perfect game even with ugly quarters because of how crazy the 2nd, 4th and OT was. The Celtics didn't come even close.
Stevens is all about Ball movement, outside of a few closing plays he wasn't calling iso plays. That's the players and it sure looks like it's because they finally can after the Raptors basically stopped it. I'd expect that to change.
Stevens is also going to need to adjust how he uses his bench. The Heat play small ball a ton unlike the Raptors who like to play big. I'd certainly consider playing Kanter over Grant Williams and Semi. I'd do it to attack Bam and get him in foul trouble and anytime they bring in KO. That's much more of a shooting team than driving team. There's no Siakam that Kanter could set off and I'm not worried about Bam going off on him.
Another crazy idea might be starting Wannamaker and making Kemba the 6th man. While he was better late, he still looks like he's struggling with what role he has. When it should be crystal clear, it's to score and set guys up. They did some stuff to slow him down, yet nothing too crazy. He certainly looks like a guy who hasn't yet adjusted to playing off the ball. 2nd unit you just give him the ball 100% of the time and hope that helps.
If this is playoff Kemba, I was dead wrong about him. Heck it seems like you should insert Hayward and have Kemba be the 6th man. He's literally a massive net negative if he can't be an elite scorer in the playoffs and shouldn't be starting. The guys starting to make me miss Scary Terry, which isn't a good thing.

My gut tells me it’s going to be hard to win if Miami doesn’t start missing a three now and again

It would help if they actually defended Miami’s best shooters.

Really hope those last two minutes weren’t a missed opportunity to stretch the lead.

It’s a little disappointing to be up 17 with the ball just over a minute left and go in with a 13 point lead

Is Brad planning on ever making a halftime adjustment? Ridiculous how bad every third quarter is.

Maybe Boston needs to just play from behind. They do not have any energy right now

1. Turnover keeping Miami in the game (11 to 3) 2. Defensive rotations are getting embarrassing. 3. Not super happy with the officiating.

Stevens’ inability to solve simple zones is a complete embarrassment. He’s being outclassed by Nurse and Spo this postseason.

Tatum doing a great job keeping Boston afloat by getting to the charity strip

How often would refs call an offensive foul on a play like that?

Tatum doesn’t have Super Star legs yet... he probably shouldn’t at 22 but it was the only hope this team had. It’s not a knock on him but he’s coming up short a lot on his shots. He plays both ends that a lot.

You cannot say enough bad things about Stevens as a coach. Just completely watches his team get hosed by the officials, and then fall apart without calling a single timeout or making a single adjustment. And that’s without mentioning what a disaster they are ever third quarter.
He’s a bad in-game basketball coach.

Lebron’s team wouldn’t have gotten beat by 20 in a must win third quarter because he woulda been in their asses

Why the hell did he have to challenge that? The official with an angle had called it Boston ball. Did the guy who was not in position seriously overrule the guy who saw it?

And that’s without mentioning what a disaster they are ever third quarter. He’s a bad in-game basketball coach. He sticks to his game plan and sometimes it's bad. Like no energy maybe go back to Robert Williams to stop dunks and get energy. That was horrible, the zone he called started this mess, everything was bad.
