Also worth remembering some players were "mic'd up" as we look at shirt folds and creases.

MLB was way too quick with their investigation. If this crap was uncovered by it, it's f'ing insane that players are not getting punished for it. Wearing a shock device is way different than listening to a trashcan. Wearing the device is consent that you are on board with blatant cheating.
Altuve was even way forward in the batter's box against Chapman when he hit the HR!

He's at the same place in the batters' box the whole AB. But, even failing that, let's pretend it's an alternate universe where he did move up in the box because he knew it wasn't a fastball. That's not really in question, right? Like, there's nothing specific in that tweet or clip that indicates anything they didn't just get punished for. There's no one out here arguing "actually they didn't cheat," is there?

Edit: if you're inclined to consider this evidence of anything, that is.

And if he was giving away that's what he was doing by being in the front of the batter's box, the Yankees catcher should have noticed that. The jersey stuff, on the other hand... I mean, come on.

baseball twitter is lit today. David Brosius, son of Scott Brosius who was also third base coach for the Mariners for a few seasons, says that they and everyone knew what the Astros were doing and how they were doing it in the 2017 season.
Also, he says Mike Trout takes HGH for a thyroid condition and gets away with it through a loophole. WTF is happening.

I, the rando son of a former major leaguer, certainly do have some scandalous information to share right now, the exact moment at which it will attract the most attention to me.

If there's any chance of the MLB covering this up until they no longer could, then we should assume that it's possible for any superstar to be on HGH.
Edit: Should have added, that's a big IF.

I assume it's possible, and I fully believe it's a thing David Brosius has heard. But the idea that there are whispers within the game that Mike Trout is using something... yeah well no shit, he's Mike Trout. You can't be Mike Trout and not have those rumors floating around on some level.

It's odd still hear people say 'every team knew what the Astros were doing and how they were doing it!'.
They were reportedly banging on trash cans to relay signs from the dugout 162+ games a year - how could anyone in baseball not know what they were doing?

However, if the MLB tried to cover up this thing, which is at least somewhat possible, it's sensible to assume they must have messed up elsewhere as well. Which would explain how relatively quickly this spilled over on Cora and Beltran.

Countering that, if every team DID know they were doing it wouldn't they be switching up signs after every bang of a trash can?

He peels that off midway through the interview. Its confetti. The skeptics can't have it both ways and claim its secret because Altuve took steps to preserve the secret, and claim Reddick showed up shirtless for an interview.
Sorry, can't embed tweet but video is at this link.
Astros Outfielder Josh Reddick said it was confetti on his chest in that widely shared picture accusing Reddick of wearing a buzzer or wire.

My bad. But it does not look like confetti with what looks like a wire underneath it. And the both ways comment could be explained because maybe Altuve was just a lot more careful about hiding it.

One wrinkle I keep thinking about is that we've been blaming the rise in homers on the juiced ball. And while that's certainly part of it, players knowing what pitch was coming would obviously play a role as well.

The Braves have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent outfielder Marcell Ozuna, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN.com. The MDR Sports Management client will receive an $18MM salary that slightly exceeds the $17.8MM qualifying offer from the Cardinals that he rejected back in November. www.mlbtraderumors.com/
