Chris Snow, who used to be a Red Sox and Bruins beat writer for the Globe before going on to work for the Minnesota Wild and now the Calgary Flames, was diagnosed with ALS a few months ago. I actually knew Chris a little bit back in Melrose - he didn't go to MHS but we're the same age so every so often we'd play basketball together or whatever. Melrose isn't a big place.
