Yup, just grabbing up pitching depth wherever they can get it at this point.
Gonsalves is a former top 100 guy. Mets DFA'ed him to add Andres Gimenez.
Also Roenicke announced Covey is going back down to Pawtucket and they'd talked about that being the plan before the game. Seems pretty clear he was only up to satisfy his assignment clause. Doesn't explain why he pitched but that's for another thread.

Interesting pickup. Sneaky good numbers in the minors. I already like him better than Martin Perez. lol.

It will be interesting to see if the Sox stay at 60 or go back to 59 when the dust settles.

I wouldn't be surprised if they got some good reports on him since he was a PawSox killer in his last run through he IL. In four games against Pawtucket in 2018 he allowed two runs in 24 1/3, with 13 hits, 25 Ks, and nine walks.

I normally don't get excited by moves like this. Yet I like this move, I actually like it a lot.

I normally don't get excited by moves like this. Yet I like this move, I actually like it a lot. Yeah I do too! Interesting that the Mets couldn't think of a way to hold on to him. He is more of #5 type starter, but he may eventually be serviceable. I actually like Carson Fullmer also, if that becomes possible. We saw yesterday, that days like the O's beating us can sadly materialize. This season is a reset. We may be #16 for a playoff berth, but let's see what folks can do given a chance. Verdugo should plat everyday...period. Dalbec and Chavis should be getting at-bats. Duran hopefully gets an opportunity over the 2nd half (?). Hard to call 30-games a 2nd half. Lol Just saw the Tigers picked Fullmer up!
