You could kind of see that happening. The "magic" was wearing off in Chicago, and as Theo has said before, 10 years in one place is long enough. Either he goes to another team like Philadelphia or perhaps he waits for an ownership share type of opportunity. I'm not sure what else is "higher up" in the game than what he's already done.

Could possibly see the Mets but they have Sandy Alderson in place but Sandy Alderson doesn't exactly have the track record Theo does.

I can't see him taking a job reporting to Sandy after he was in charge in Chicago.

I agree I wasn't saying I think he'd accept a job being under Alderson. Since Alderson was just barely brought back by Cohen its highly unlikely but if Cohen wanted to make a big splash to the front office you can't do much better than Theo.

It's been mentioned that Theo might want to be part of an ownership group. If that's the case, I wouldn't mind seeing him involved with the Red Sox. Henry and Werner are getting up in age and it would be good to have a guy with Theo's age and skill set in the owners' box. I'm talking about Theo as a partner to Henry and Werner, not instead of, to be clear.
Don't think it happens, but it's an interesting thought anyways.

I'm not very well versed on the whole redball and fenway sports group dealings and maybe I'm way off on it but I'd love if Theo could get in on a deal to get some sort of ownership stake.

i am not too shocked about Theo. He has always alluded to this 10 year thing, though it seems so abritrary.
I also think he is looking out for himself and his destiny.
I will always like the guy and respect him, but if i am being honest, I am not sure why someone who grew up a Sox fan, lived near Fenway Park would ever have wanted to leave in the first place. I know i don't know the whole story, but if he wanted a share of ownership, what would be better than owning your favorite childhood team. I am sure that was possible, if he stayed.

I did find myself wondering about the organizational structure in that group. Will there be a head of soccer operations? Someone to oversee the baseball side? With the complete restructuring of MiLB, there will be an abundance of opportunities for overall command of all the components that make up a franchise. That hasn't really existed in the past.

Actually he fits the mold of what Philadelphia is looking for to a tee.

I could see Seattle. He could bring a first World Series ever on the heels of breaking two curses. One of the better farm systems in baseball and probably my personal favorite with the two ridiculous looking OF's (Kelenic, Julio Rodriguez), three high floor/ceiling guys in Hanock, Gilbert and Kirby who all have good stuff and great command...Noelvi Marte as a potential high ceiling future ss, Taylor Trammel if he can get back on track....and its a blue state where he can hang out with Eddie Vedder.

Ill never understand why people who already signed massive contracts take steroids. You've already gotten the big bucks with more on the way. Just go ahead and suck the rest of the contract and get your dough. Obviously thats a real simple way of thinking about it but come on.

You would think someone making $24M a year could afford something a bit more undetectable.

Dont even take the so caller "undetectable" ones. Just gather your money and play baseball whether your any good or not anymore.
