I've seen similar a few times... just not above the Little League level.

I encourage everyone to do what I've done, and watch this play several thousand times consecutively - you just keep discovering new levels to it. One thing I've come to appreciate is the absolute mortal defeat in the attempt by the guy at second base to catch the throw in from right at the end of the play. He knows what he's just seen, and that it will haunt the team for years, and he can scarcely summon the will to even try to catch the ball.

The first baseman not doing much to change any perception that athletes are dumber than average. Room temperature IQ ?

The most amazing part of this, to me, is something I haven't seen too many people bring up - Baez himself almost screws the whole thing up by pausing to do the "safe" sign, because if he gets thrown out at first the run doesn't count anyway.

Amazing catch to steal the walkoff away. Giants win in 10!

It was very polite of Pujols to stand around and admire the catch, rather than run hard in case the ball ended up in play.
Meanwhile, more quality Yankees content:

The Braves organization never goes for long without giving you a new reason to despise them.

Shameful. I would have loved for him to come here. Really glad he didn’t and hope his career never recovers.

Yankees have scored 3 or fewer runs in 29 games this season.
The only MLB team to do that more is the Pirates.
Saw this nugget on Twitter as well: Masahiro Tanaka has a 2.84 ERA in six starts in Japan. In 38 innings, he's got 31 strikeouts and five walks.

They're getting hammered for not re-signing Tanaka. They chose to go with Kluber and it cost them. I watched his first start and he was very tentative. He really picked it up with that deadly slider, but that may be at the root of his current shoulder injury. He's out for at least two months, maybe longer.
The starters behind Cole are questionable at best, and the cratered hitting hasn't helped at all. The three losses to the Tigers will set the fanbase on fire, that's guaranteed. Tough times in the Bronx.

Do the white Sox think this statement makes things better? IMO the White Sox are a farcical organization, so I'm not surprised by their tone deaf changes, and response to those changes. Jerry had an eternity to atone for letting Larussa go and waited until 2021, when he was by all accounts, irrelevant as a manager in today's game? They aren't winning the world series, and this reeks of Bobby V, albeit with a more talented team. By July-August, there will be a mutiny, and Larussa will be a casualty going into next year. He's not Mckeon, or Leyland, guys who their team would get hit by a bus to play for, and who protected/understood their players. He's a mercurial a*hole with a misplaced sense of self-importance. Sure the record books will disagree with me, but Tony was, and will always be an a*hole in my book, and I will enjoy watching him torch his storied career. He deserves no less.

The Braves organization never goes for long without giving you a new reason to despise them. Wait, is there a longer history there? It's the Braves fault Ozuna turned into a duchebag? I mean, are you blaming the Patriots for not knowing Aaron Hernandez was a psychopath? Or for signing Antonio Brown? Not sure why I should despise the Braves organization because of this.

Judge and Stanton, to a lesser extent, are hitting. The rest of the lineup ranges from mediocre to bad right now. They'll pick it up I'll bet, but they'll have to do something about the pitching. It doesn't get any easier. They've got the Rays and the Red Sox coming up.

Just in the sense that Ozuna is a member of the Braves organization, is all I meant. (Guess I should have left out the word "organization.") The core reasons to hate the Braves, though, are the stadium relocation, the tomahawk chop, and, for me personally, the fact that they were so ubiquitously and boringly on TV all the time when I was a kid - the 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife of televised baseball.
As a general principle, though, yes, I think a little less of teams that sign domestic abusers like Aroldis Chapman and Roberto Osuna. I'm not saying that applies to Ozuna, though, since I don't know that he had any public history of domestic violence when he was signed.

Hanoi Hannah did it for me. For whatever reason, she's still alive. I grew up watching the Braves in Boston before I followed the Sox but having Hannah dating Turner and being constantly shown on TV was waaaaay overboard. She is literally the only person alive I wish (pray) a slow and painful death for.

There’s a little bit of history of Ozuna and his wife hitting each other, but it was she who was charged with throwing something at him. www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article243309611.html

Does anybody else remember earlier this season when the Sox were playing the Rays and many of us mused at how bad the Rays were? I remember distinctly thinking "this team won the pennant last year"? Did they lose that much talent in the offseason? They were terrible and many on here thought the same. And now they are just doing what they always do, competing and winning, on top of that they still have guys in the minors that are supposed to be studs.

I thought they were *awful* when we played them. I guess it was just lucky to catch them then!

I thought they were *awful* when we played them. I guess it was just lucky to catch them then! I mean, after the way we opened against Baltimore I didn't really think much of us either. What continues to shock me is just how bad the Yankees are, and how married so many of the sports media are to them "figuring it out." I listen to MLB radio when I pick up my daughter and you would think Bowden gets paid residuals every time he mentions the Yankees. He routinely puts all of his apples in their cart and I just don't get it. I'm not saying there isn't talent on that roster, but their best offensive forces routinely spend enough time on the IR that they should probably have wings at Mount Sinai named after them individually. Their rotation after Cole is pretty much a mess. They keep trying to fix the unfixable Gary Sanchez (Probably my most hated Yankee since Jim Leyritz/Tanyon Sturtze), they just have more holes IMO than solutions, and yet everyone wants to put them in the same discussion as the Dodgers which I find insane.
