At the presser after the game, Seabold actually said he hasn't had feel for the changeup the last couple starts and that's been why he has been throwing more sliders.

Alternate Site Sox win 10-0 this morning. Connor Seabold goes 5 for the win. 5ip, 4h, 1bb, 5K. He sat 94/95 with the FB, but was throwing mostly breaking pitches. Duran goes deep twice, a solo shot to right in the 4th and a 3 run shot to centerfield later in the game. They gave trackman info on the first HR. It left the bat at 102 and landed 411 over the Right Field Wall (22 feet high). The solo shot to center went over the 403 sign. If you want to watch the Duran Dingers the video of the full game is on Facebook. The first at 48:30 and the second at 2:06:18. www.facebook.com/GoWooSox/videos

Polar Park looks great. As a season ticket holder, however, I am very disappointed that I have not had any updates on how my tickets will work, when will I receive tickets, as of now which season ticket holders will be allowed in on opening day, how will it be decided who is allowed in on what games, how can I sell tickets I will not be able to use, etc. I would even love a Zoom call saying we have no updates. Back in the early winter we were told there would be more Zoom calls scheduled. Nothing. I would not give them very high marks for keeping season ticket holders informed. Am I alone with this frustration with the opening of Polar Park in 2 weeks?

Might be off topic, but when will season opening rosters for the minor league teams slated to start next week be announced?

Might be off topic, but when will season opening rosters for the minor league teams slated to start next week be announced? In 2019, the season started on April 4 and we heard on March 29. So figure the end of this week.

I'm also not sure what the point of a Zoom call to say there's no update would be. There were rumors last week the minor league season was getting pushed back a month, so this has all been touch-and-go. I did see that a few teams in Florida today announced that they were only going to have fans for about half of their games, based on day of the week, so maybe we'll start to see announcements soon.

Is there really talk of pushing the start of the season back another month? Say it ain't so Chris, please say it ain't so.

Is there really talk of pushing the start of the season back another month? Say it ain't so Chris, please say it ain't so. For what it’s worth, various teams across all levels have started selling their individual game tickets for the start of the season. Different teams and states will probably have different rules for the start of the season in regards to seating and capacity, but there’s been no concrete news or reports that things are getting delayed again.

JJ Cooper has been mentioning this on Twitter. The latest tweet of his that I saw again said it's a rumor that's out there and he's hearing it's not true:

Good news from the CDC. Vaccinated types (and that should mean more and more folks) can participate in outdoor activities without masking up. My guess is the restrictions will be gradually loosened even further as the season moves on.

Without getting into a discussion of the merits, since this isn't the place, the Governor's statement includes this. I would assume games are "events."

Yeah let's not debate the merits on this. I think Norm was simply referring to the new CDC guidance and the fact it came out.

So apparently the Red Sox released Mike Shawaryn on Sunday and Hector Rondon retired on April 9.
Shawaryn signed with the Royals today.

I should have been clearer. The CDC is progressively lowering the barrier. My thought is that that will continue through the summer and that we may have even fewer restrictions on crowd size and protective gear at some point.

Shawaryn (almost like the pitching version of Cecchini) is one of those guys who I feel like came so close to making it (i.e., holding down a middle relief roster spot), but hit some struggles and never recovered and/or never really got another shot with us. I really do hope he can find some level of success with KC or at least find content closure to his baseball career should it come to that. But yeah, cheers to him...he was a fun follow for me during his stretches of success in our system.

I love following Red Sox prospects through the system and cheer extra hard for them when they get to Boston. There have been so many in my 51 years of beings Sox fan. Worchester will have a great lineup with plenty appearing in Boston later this year....can’t wait for AAA games to start!
