I don’t see Pivetta in the rotation for the full season.
His WHIP is approaching 2 for the season.

We have to have more 'just missed' home runs than just about any team in baseball

The historical ML career book on Marwin Gonzalez is closing right before our eyes.

The historical ML career book on Marwin Gonzalez is closing right before our eyes. This is the sort of poor control and command pitcher who tends to get hit hard that would feel like a good matchup for Dalbec too. But nah, gotta play Marwin today so Bobby can take his chances trying to hit Giolito or something.

Can't be more pleased with the beginning of the MFY season.

Can't be more pleased with the beginning of the MFY season. Pivetta’s Red Sox career is 4 GS and 4 wins.....looks like that will stop today. It is hard to see him going 5 innings.....

In just the last inning, he didn't throw a strike to Cordero and walked him. I know these guys are pros and all, but you'd think Pawlecki would take with the bases loaded until he got a strike. Instead he chased three balls out of the zone. Stuff like that drives me nuts. It's the difference between going to the plate with a plan and going to the plate thinking "grip it and rip it."

I really appreciate the way Pivetta is battling, the book on him in Philly was that he’d completely implode when faced with adversity. He’s been bad today but he’s not imploding (yet)
I’d consider bringing somebody else out for the 4th but they may want to get what they can out of Pivetta today with the double header coming up

I know what these uniforms are supposed to be commemorating, but they're hideous - no doubt some ill-informed marketing scheme. A patch on the shoulder would've been more appropriate and less of an eyesore. a fellow Sox friend sent me a picture, while i can say I still don't totally like. and agree with your overall assessment, the picture (which had Devers) looked better than i thought it would, and thus I wont judge as harshly . I probably would feel different if i was watching live. However, are they wearing them all weekend ? That is overkill and portends more to marketing scheme than appropriate commemorative recognition.

Kiké appears to be getting some of the luck back that went against him earlier in the season.

I would very much like for the White Sox lead to Cease.

Devers scorched two balls and got two outs for it....at least that's a sac fly

This is sort of painful. Watching two throwers just hope they find the plate is like watching little league. Definitely looking forward to both teams going to the pen. It will mean the game ends before it is dark on the West coast at least.
16 baserunners through 3? Amazingly the hardest hit balls have been outs. This could easily be a football score.

Tie Game !! I feel like i am listening to the game on radio in the 1930's..given all the modern visual opportunities. My feud with MLB.TV has forced me to Gameday watching. LOL.

Here is something to keep an eye on as the season goes on: Cease has done the nearly impossible, walking both Marwin and Franchy. Will another pitcher do that in 2021?

I’d rather have Pivetta keep going at 80 pitches than put in Taylor.
