Meant to ask this yesterday but forgot to - is Monday just a new blanket off day throughout the minors?

Players probably like it though so it’s cool No more overnight bus trips with 5 am arrivals and afternoon start times is a good thing. So are the 6-day series. I think both are here to stay. I do think that staggering the off-day between leagues and levels would be good though. The Triple-A West does play on Mondays and has Thursdays off, so it's not completely universal, and I don't think there's a reason everyone needs to have the same off-day. Even from a business perspective, you lose the ability to play on Monday holidays, so there's a strong argument for Monday not being the day off for anyone, although. I'm sure the impetus was that you play an afternoon game on Sunday and have that entire evening and all of Monday to travel, whereas playing an afternoon game midweek is tougher. Still, you'd think with the off-day that's not entirely needed.

Sox seemingly had themselves one hell of a rule 5 draft in both phases
Would be a damn shame if we robbed the Yankees of two major leaguers.....

I’m getting a lot of Ryan Brasier vibes from Kaleb Ort.

I got a notification and my reaction was "Holly smoke! He took Manoah deep?" Then I checked and it was some dude by the name of TJ Zeuch.

I just noticed that Nick Yorke got dropped to hit seventh for Salem. He’d been second in the batting order. I’m wondering if anyone thinks that’s at all significant, or if they just want to take some pressure off him based on his very slow start. Obviously it’s not what you want to see from a first round pick, but hopefully it’s a fairly meaningless change.

Never seen professional pitching in game action, I’m not overly concerned about it. I could see him heating up soon

Duran has to be close to forcing the issue, no? Yes small sample size but hes handling triple A pitching no problem right now. I'd have a hard time believing he wouldn't be the best option for them in LF right now.

I'd have a hard time believing he wouldn't be the best option for them in LF right now. Not to just naysay, but I want to see him doing this away from Polar Park too. The way they built it, the wind comes in through the open air area behind home plate and out to right. I don't think it's playing like that consistently, but the fact we're seeing so many of these multiple-home run games is indicative of a night the wind is blowing out. He's doing what he should, I just need to see it on the road as well. Also, fwiw, Ian called this with Ort on the podcast we recorded last night that drops tomorrow morning (tonight for Patrons!).

This is not meant to discredit Zeferjahn's good work tonight, but Fredericksburg entered tonight hitting .167/.280/.222 as a team, and they are about to be 0-13.

Uh oh. Bazardo out of the WooSox game with an injury after five pitches. Edit to add: first seemed to reach for his tricep, then rubbed his wrist, then indicated to training staff it was the tricep area.
