If the Sox don’t play this like it’s a five-inning game they’re going to lose. They heard you!

I feel like the Sox are just absolute killers in the 3rd time through the order department. Do the stats back that up?

I know this is sacrilegious but it has to be said - not a bad return for Mookie given the circumstances.

OK, that’s five, come on Blue, call it before someone rips a hammy.

That is just about the soggiest infield I've ever seen an obstinate effort to play a major league game on.

Perez threw 71 pitches. Apparently Cora does not trust him to face a lineup for a third time, even with a nice lead and Ottovino the next guy out of the pen.
Fingers crossed.

Everyone's body language - Ottavino's, Cora's, the ump's - is like: "this is madness; an insane, meaningless march to nowhere; we proceed, yet we know not why."

Ottavino has been good lately
Also i think that’s the worst conditions I’ve ever seen played in?

I’m surprised they let the game go as long as it did. The field is honestly dangerous right now. Know the forecast is crap the rest of the weekend, but can’t let that override good judgment.

Ottavino was doing NESN a solid there, keeping it interesting a few more minutes to keep the ratings up.

Ottavino needs to get resin rosin tips from Poteet.

I know this is sacrilegious but it has to be said - not a bad return for Mookie given the circumstances. No it isn't. It is logical. It isn't close to me.... I would EASILY rather have Verdugo and his contract over Betts and his contract...... not even close

I'd expect all 4 MIA OFs to be in the lineup, with Cooper the likely DH The 3 MIA pitchers are lousy hitters, so nothing lost with the DH I love how your obsession changes over time, currently pitchers hitting. Not a bad thing. Just funny! If pitchers batting is interesting, then pitchers not batting: even more so

I’ll add to that. I am glad the FO adjusted the trade assests regarding the Betts trade.

That cut right through the weather: what a shot. That was a Teddy Ballgame last AB HR. Ha, ha, ha! I do remember that game. I ran back from school...about 2 miles...in time to hear Williams' last at bat AND the prior one when he flied out to the fence in right. Fenway was enveloped in a cold mist. Williams had come back to the bench after the long fly and said in paraphrase..'If that one didn't go out nothing will go out today'. In the final at bat Williams swung hard and missed a pitch prompting Gowdy to say that there was no doubt what Williams was trying to do. The rest is, of course, history.

Robbie Grossman, whom I've pimped (and will continue to proudly pimp) as a potential pickup, hit a walkoff jack in the bottom of the 10th to beat the MFY.

Robbie Grossman, whom I've pimped (and will continue to proudly pimp) as a potential pickup, hit a walkoff jack in the bottom of the 10th to beat the MFY. The best thing about it is that the ump botched the call on the previous pitch, which should have been a strike that would have given the Yankees the win.
And you people say you want robo umps...
