Greenville has 6 of the top 21 in OPS in High-A East:
Devlin Granberg (1) 1.135 Tyreque Reed (2) 1.133 Tyler Dearden (5) 1.030
Cole Cottam (14) .879 Nick Sogard (16) .872 Brandon Howlett (21) .824

Credit to the hitters for beating up on bad competition, but 3 of the 5 weeks that Greenville has played have been against the two worst pitching staffs in the league. They've done two series against Asheville, which has been said to be the worst pitching staff in the whole minors. Again, they get credit for hitting well, but take it with a grain of salt.

DFA candidate Connor Wong hits his first Red Sox HR.

AJ Politely declines to be the next top prospect. Maybe afraid of TJ surgery that comes with the role?

DFA candidate Connor Wong hits his first Red Sox HR. ....and Cy Young candidate Ryan Weber has a no-hitter after 4 innings...

I think it would be a really bad idea to DFA a 24-year old outfielder who keeps hitting HRs in AAA

I don’t think anybody has advocated for DFA’ing Wilson, I have seen talk of trading him for lower minors guys that don’t need a 40 man spot and i think that’s reasonable. I bet the Pirates would take a look at him, for instance
I also wouldn’t hate if he plays his way into an opportunity here!

Aldo with a solid outing: 4IP, 3H, 0ER, 2BB, 4K (68 pitches, 43 strikes)*
*against the 8-22 Fredericksburg Nats

I bet the Pirates would take a look at him, for instance I also wouldn’t hate if he plays his way into an opportunity here! Yeah at one point he might've been in the conversation as the 3rd or 4th DFA option (and I might've said - and probably did say - that), but my recent point was if they really need a spot (and again, like the 4th or 5th spot), moving him if they're going to get good value back would be an option in an Aybar-Koss-like deal. He's still corner OF only: he was mostly in LF until Cordero went down and Puello opted out, at which point he became the RF with Cordero in LF full-time. His home/road splits aren't as stark as, say, Duran's, which is good, but the 36.4% K rate really scares me, as does the .417 BABIP.
