Marcus Wilson tees off AGAIN
How long until this guy cracks the MLB roster? Feel like he should get a chance soon as a guy that can mash it.

I'm starting to wonder.
If Alex Verdugo were to suffer an injury today... am I wrong in thinking that Jarren Duran might be the least likely of the three WooSox OFs to get called up?

Well, Mieses is killing it at this point, and Wilson has also come on. I think it all depends on what the Sox would be looking for since they play different roles.

I think based on the MLB roster composition, Chavis is the first call-up no matter who gets hurt. An outfielder getting hurt (assuming current starting OF of Verdugo-Hernandez-Renfroe) means OF playing time for Santana and/or Gonzalez. But as to your point, I could see them giving Wilson a look before Duran at present if the sky fell on them. Probably a rough order of call-up preference of: Chavis no matter what Araúz if it's an infielder and probably even if it's an outfielder Franchy if it's an outfielder Wilson

Wet blanket: the spreadsheets are not believers in Marcus Wilson yet (.220/.290/.370 projection)

"Franchy Cordero doubles (4) on a fly ball to right fielder Khalil Lee."
Red Sox clear winners of the Benintendi trade.

Franchy is just on a ridiculous tear right now. Definitely want to see him continue to get reps in AAA before trying the majors again, but it's great to see that if an injury happens and he needs to come back he's at least earning the confidence to bring him back as opposed to forcing him up when he's still struggling.
Obviously insanely SSS, but a sub-25% K% is the most optimistic thing for me. It's also AAA pitching, but a quick look at his career stats and I believe this would be the lowest K% he's ever had at any level of baseball

Often following the AAA team is sort of unexciting. BUT, with this team it is quite interesting. Not sure when following our AAA team has been this good.

Wet blanket: the spreadsheets are not believers in Marcus Wilson yet (.220/.290/.370 projection) Some days the major league lineup has four guys with a lower OPS that that .660.

With 4 possible position player injuries needed to bring him to the majors and a 40-man roster crunch coming, I’d be surprised if Wilson isn’t traded at some point. An Aybar/Koss trade seems to be the most likely scenario. Given his proximity to the majors and his great (admittedly inflated) AAA numbers, I feel like Wilson could net a decent enough lower level prospect.

Given his proximity to the majors and his great (admittedly inflated) AAA numbers, I feel like Wilson could net a decent enough lower level prospect. The way he sticks around is if they think he's viable as a fourth outfielder next year, basically. If he's not, he likely gets moved during the offseason. But that said, you've always got to be careful with thinking a team is going to trade for him based on his numbers. They're not. They're going to trade for a guy based on scouting and analytics. The Greenville Drive team wasn't too shabby either that year! 😅 Probably the best team of the SoxProspects era. It's the gold standard. (Note they got Moncada a few weeks into the season and had Benintendi for a short time late in the year.) Followed by the Pedroia-Lester-Pap-Hanley Sea Dogs.

Rosario just made a really accurate and strong throw to third to get an out on a sac fly attempt. Just based on the limited minor league tv viewing I've seen of him he plays a pretty strong center field.

Nick Yorke got pulled in the third inning, not sure why. He was ejected for arguing balls and strikes. Had a long AB that ended in a called third strike so presumably was unhappy about that.

Line from Frank German would have looked better if they didn't bring him back for the 6th inning.
He was 5IP, 2H, 1ER, 4K then gave up two singles in the 6th and was pulled. Both runners scored and his final line ended up at 5IP, 4H, 3ER, 4K (74 pitches, 47 strikes).
