Wil Dalton promoted to Greenville. With Granberg being promoted, Dom D’Alessandro was the 4th OF on the roster. Makes sense to bring him up.

Houck is supposed to be pitching 2 innings I believe today. The Woo Sox have pitched Gonsalves behind an opener the last two times through, so I wonder if they use Houck as the opener.

That would be a good guess. Mine as well. But from I can see, they still refer to Gonsalves as the starter. Maybe the Bulk guy is a better term.

I believe that as much was reported Tuesday, that Gonsalves is throwing after Houck.
RE: Dalton promotion, I wonder if Decker is also close to returning. I'm intrigued to see how they handle the OF playing time if so given the amount of RF Jimenez has been playing lately. That said, with Jecorrah Arnold and Dean Miller on that roster, they don't need to rush him either.
No OF in Fort Myers that I think makes sense to go up unless Paulino, Perez, or Maita has been impressive.

Critical question. This thread continues to call it the GCL, but the team page for the team refers to the "Florida Complex League." Will it be returned to its proper name once they start? 11 days to the best day of the minor league season.

I think Joel just hasn't gotten around to changing that yet. It's the FCL now.

I’ve been a loud critic of having Franchy on the MLB team, but in Worcester, perhaps his greatest improvement along with making regular contact has been his BB% - which lifetime is about 8%, but which he’s nearly doubled. along with cutting his Ks down significantly, this seems like the big exhale and refocus he’s needed. He’s not yet reached 100 PAs but I for one would not be opposed to bringing him back up ONLY IF Cora gave him regular ABs.

Come on, JAXX has to be a stage name. He keeps whacking the ball so he may be prepping for the 'big' stage! Add: He's also getting back to that old-time religion, with 23 walks in 120 PAs - an on-base pct of .442 to go with that .316 BA.

I'm curious, guidas... are you against Franchy staying in Worcester for another month, gaining more confidence in his abilities to put up solid contact? I get wanting him on the MLB team, but since it went SO BAD the first time, staying in the minors could be the prudent move for him (mentally at least). If he were to come right back up and completely crap the bed again, that could be detrimental to his development and trade value.

Eduardo Lopez up to Salem. Bandy also was sent down to Salem. Nice! I’ll be hitting a bunch of Salem games in a couple of weeks when they come back to Fredericksburg.

Makes you wonder if Freddy Valdez is a bust
That does remove the outfield squeeze in the GCL FCL.

Wonder how the outfield PT will breakdown in Salem with three CFs now. stevedillard, I don't really think there was one. There are a lot of OFs on that projected roster, but only were a few projected to get much PT.

Anybody know when the last time the Red Sox had all four full season minor league teams 4 games above .500?
I would say at the very least our GM has done a good job in adding depth to the minor league system.

stevedillard, I don't really think there was one. There are a lot of OFs on that projected roster, but only were a few projected to get much PT. Well, if you figure Gonzalez and Valdez are regulars, and Belen is the DH/3rd corner, you had Lopez as the CF, which pushed Vaughan to the bench now, and pushed Chacon back to the DSL (they still call it that?) when in normal circumstances he'd be stateside in year 2 after signing a big bonus. At least now Vaughan will get more pt, though you have Maita listed there now.

Nice start from Houck off the DL. 3 innings of no hit ball, 6 K's and 1BB.
Looks like he wasn't an opener for Gonsalves and Gonsalves will pitch tomorrow. Unsure if there will be an opener.
