stevedillard, I don't really think there was one. There are a lot of OFs on that projected roster, but only were a few projected to get much PT. Well, if you figure Gonzalez and Valdez are regulars, and Belen is the DH/3rd corner, you had Lopez as the CF, which pushed Vaughan to the bench now, and pushed Chacon back to the DSL (they still call it that?) when in normal circumstances he'd be stateside in year 2 after signing a big bonus. At least now Vaughan will get more pt, though you have Maita listed there now. I put Maita there because he's really the only CF there. I don't think Chacon is in the DR still because he's blocked. The only (nom-Cuban) guy from that class in the US is Cruz. Chacon hit the biggest bonus in that class, but he didn't even get $1m, remember. Perfectly reasonable for them to want to get him a year in the DSL.

Rosario was pulled early from the game. Nishioka pinch hit for him in the 7th inning. Can’t find an explanation in the game log. He popped out in the fifth and nothing was hit his way after that.

Jeter Downs hits the windshield of the truck parked under the scoreboard in LF to make it 3-2 WooSox in the 8th.

Very good looking curve and 95 FB....but the command stood out.. was outstanding. Marcus Wilson had very good strike zone judgment...3 walks..taking close pitches and had speed on the bases.

I’ve been a loud critic of having Franchy on the MLB team, but in Worcester, perhaps his greatest improvement along with making regular contact has been his BB% - which lifetime is about 8%, but which he’s nearly doubled. along with cutting his Ks down significantly, this seems like the big exhale and refocus he’s needed. He’s not yet reached 100 PAs but I for one would not be opposed to bringing him back up ONLY IF Cora gave him regular ABs. Cora is not capable of giving Franchy regular at bats, because he already has Verdugo, Renfroe, and Hernández in the outfield, and he refuses to sit Hernández! Franchy’s tools give him a much higher ceiling than Hernández, but given Cora’s history to date this year, I honestly do not see Hernández on the pine in favor of Franchy unless Bloom trades Hernández at the deadline.

Me too. He has speed and power and apparently is not a free wheeling hacker. He should get an opportunity with someone. I got in on the game late but saw Franchy work a walk against a LH after starting 0-2. That was impressive as he laid off prototypical sweeping breaking balls down and away. There was a calm demeanor...no anxiousness...which dovetails Guidas' comments.

A growing problem Duran, Wilson and Franchy have is Arroyo. His emergence as the player he was projected to be as a prospect means less infield time for the other troops (or should).
Maybe somebody should buy Franchy a first baseman's mitt. He was also beginning to hit in Boston, just before they sent him down. It's not just an AAA thang.

Been my thought too...Again, he looked so poised in the one at bat I saw last night.

Are the memories really this short? He gave Franchy 102 at-bats and people whined about every one of them. They whined that he was on the roster even when he wasn't playing. This was you! Prediction: when Hernandez come off the DL then Franchy visits Worchester (Rusney style). I do not think he will play well enough in AAA to be called up (non-tender candidate)? forum.soxprospects.com/post/456388/threadFine. Declare the Franchy experiment over and play Marwin in LF and Chavis and Arauz at 2B until Arroyo and Hernandez return. None of them can be worse the Cordero. forum.soxprospects.com/post/455971/thread
