Kutter Crawford activated and starting in Portland. Rio Gomez, who's been getting hit hard, to the Dev List.
I wonder if AJ Politi gets moved to the bullpen instead of De Jesus going back. It hasn't really worked for him as a starter and he's Rule 5 eligible, so I'd want to see how he looks in the role he's probably going to fill if he gets to the bigs.

Crawford’s not showing any rust so far. Three perfect innings with 4 Ks on 33 pitches in his first action since June 1st.

Despite the back-to-back HRs in the first inning (one from former 7th pick in 2020, Nick Gonzales), Groome is managing his pitch count much better through three innings. It'll be a good test to see if he can maintain that for another 2-3 innings.

Duran, Wilson, Downs were a combined 1 for 14 with 5 Ks. Cordero was 4 for 5 with a 2B, HR, SBAfter he had four rough games, they gave him a day off in the last game against Lehigh Valley (although he pinch-hit and was walked intentionally), and then in this series he started 2/10, 7 SO. Overall in that 6-GS slump, 5/23, 2B, 4 UBB, 10 SO. Excluding the gift walk, .217 / .333 / .361.
They gave him another day off and he's now 6/10, 2B, HR, 1 SO in two games. Now at .381 / .469 / .691 since he was sent down.

Who is this guy. His tools are amazing. What a mystery. If he figures it out, what a force. What exactly does he need to succeed? Does anyone know? Can he flip that switch???

Come on Groome!! Let's see 5 strong today with 8 k's and 2 or less walks. Bring it!! Well, you were correct he'd go 5, strike out 8 and have less than 2 walks....don't think it was 5 strong though. Well played though, Soothsayer Steveofbradenton

With Lugo OPSing 500, that 2019 draft is already shaping up to be horrible, less than 2 years in.

I mean, it looks like a draft class in which they didn't make their first pick until no. 43, no?
They're going to have made two picks by that point this season. Their third-round pick this year, no. 73, will be four spots behind where they took Lugo.

Also, there are still plenty of interesting guys in that class outside of Cannon (Groshans, Murphy, Cellucci, Loubier, Blalock)
