Richards being so vocal about the SpiderTak has really taken the focus away from Barnes who’s struggled as well without it

And Barnes has lost the zone.

2/3 should have been a clean sweep though but I’ll take it.

GIGANTIC win. I'm very pleased with how they played against a really good team on the road.

Barnes gets it done but starting to make me nervous on a few levels i agree. but a portion of that has to be because of his failures over the last 5 years. I don't think it will ever be comfortable, but he has been great this year for our nine.

Phew. Thankfully the curve worked there and didn't squirt past Vazquez.
Spectacular outing by Pivetta. He's either dominant or he struggles a lot. He could be knocked out in the 5th or flirt with a no hitter ad he is the most likely guy to throw a no no.
Glad we saw Pivetta at his best. He needed to be with that quasi spring training lineup.
Yankees will either be 10 or 11 games out! Too bad TB won.
That series was anxiety inducing but 2 of 3 is great.

Aroldis Chapman has been brutal since the sticky stuff crackdown and Cole has not been ace like either. I read that they both got heartily booed.
Hard to go anywhere when your ace and closer struggles.

Come on. Those guys came into the year with such high hopes and now they're 10.5 back and everything is going wrong. Don't you feel at least a little bit bad for them? Me either.

Hard to go anywhere when your ace and closer struggles. It is a new day for some of these hurlers. Hopefully Barnes gets back to being dominant. God he scares me. You pretty much figure he will go 3 and 2 with each batter. That's the Barnes I don't want to see. Trust your stuff!!

I'd almost like to see them tread water for awhile. That way it delays the inevitable teardown and re-build. Boone continues with his optimism, etc. If they get swept by the Mets, how can they not make changes at that point? A Mets sweep would be at least 2X as bad as the Red Sox sweeps. It's been a dreadful 10 days for them.
