Man, following the game on ESPN game cast is confusing. According to it: Bogaerts on 2nd, Devers on 1st. Devers picked off 3rd, Bogaerts scored. Renfroe sac fly, Devers scored. Makes total sense. Weird. He was safe and it wasn’t that close.

Well glad to see Richards found something then because I was ready to waive him. Hopefully he can continue on this correction.

Is it me or is Kiké walking a lot more? I like patient Kiké better than hacking Kiké.

Feels like Verdugo is badly in need of a hot streak.

I cannot remember a player I’ve been more eager to be an ex-Sox than Richards. Canseco maybe? Crawford? Panda

Well he admitted that he was using sticky stuff, and that the enforcement of the foreign substance ban affected him. I’m not sure that it’s that whiny, I appreciate that he has been truthful.

Interesting start for Richards. 3 walks and 2 Ks makes for some poor multiverse stats, but he's mostly induced a ton of weak contact so it seems like he mostly "deserves" to have only given up 1 run.
ADD: Yeah, I wrote this assuming his start was over after the 5th...

I wouldn’t have brought Richards back out.

No idea why Richards came out for the 6th

I wouldn’t have brought Richards back out. Yeah. I was thinking we’d see a reliever to Start the sixth. Instead he comes out, gives up two quick hits and a run. But I do appreciate that this is a long season and the bullpen does need rest.

Hindsight is 20/20 but bringing back your worst starter for the meat of their order seems like Cora got greedy.
He did the same thing in Atlanta im pretty sure.

I wouldn’t have brought Richards back out. Really, it feels like Cora does that a lot. A starter has done his job, everyone assumes he's finished, and he comes back out. Seems like that always turns into a runner, or jam, for the reliever to get out of. Maybe it works out sometimes, but it feels like it's almost always a mistake.

I think Cora knows his starters shouldn't be in there the third time through the order, but sometimes its a 6 run game so who cares and sometimes the pen really needs a break.
I think sticking with Richards tonight was about managing the emotions of a pitcher who is a little bit of a headcase at the moment.

Nice escape considering Sawamura got 3 outs while throwing 12 pitches and only 5 strikes.
