So I take it you are high on him? We can say that 😋 I've been a close follower of his career since Chris Hatfield saw him in High A and wrote in the game thread "Juan Soto is special".

Joe Buck constantly asking Kris Bryant about being traded while he’s representing the Cubs in an all star game seems inappropriate.

Obvious Ohtani is the poster boy for the occasion. And rightfully so.

On an evening honoring the great #44, Hank Aaron, it's a shame to be doing it in Denver. Poor Mrs. Aaron who had to travel so far for the ceremony.
Good performances from our Sox representatives.

Really wanted Barnes to rest. Instead, he's throwing a ton of pitches.

Really wanted Barnes to rest. Instead, he's throwing a ton of pitches. That was exactly my thought going in. He really needed a break and then got abused. On top of that the Red Sox and Yankees return to action one full day ahead of every other team in MLB. Note that Cole and Chapman did not pitch. It's almost like Cash was trying to hurt the Red Sox.

I have never seen a more joyful baseball player than Corbin Burnes immediately after he gave up that 750-foot home run to Vlad Jr.

If you mean they should be burned, then I am with you. Amen, brother. MLB/Nike forcing those uniforms for the All Star game was too gimmicky. Can we please step away from the gimmicks and find some other way to monetize that contract with Nike that doesn't involve god awful designs and trampling on the tradition and history of the game? Next they will re-hash the god awful White-Sox shorts.

I'm guessing Barnes wanted in, possibly because he realizes the likelihood of making additional all star games at this stage of his career are remote. I've seen others suggest a nefarious intent on Cash, but I don't really think that's the case. I think Cash did him a solid by allowing him the stage knowing full well he may never have the opportunity again.

Just put it on the right sleeve like the Majestic, Russell Athletic, and other logos have been in the past. The New Era logo on the side of hats is also annoying as hell. I haven’t bought an on-field hat since they slapped that on. Aren’t the ads plastered all over every stadium enough?

I haven’t bought an on-field hat since they slapped that on. Aren’t the ads plastered all over every stadium enough? It vexes me as well, though not to the extent of avoiding merchandise (other than the city edition unis which I found to be garish). That being said, I'm the guy who buys a hat and wears it until the brim falls completely off. I have a corduroy traditional B cap that is probably pushing ten years old now. People buy me hats and they end up in my closet waiting to see the light of day for a very long time. Creature of habit. Who doesn't know who Nike is at this point? I really don't need to see their logo to think about them, or the need for advertisement and attention. 50% of the players are already wearing batting gloves, shoes, socks, you name it with their logo on it anyways, at some point it becomes overkill, and at some point is has the opposite effect doesn't it? I remember the buy a brick @ Fenway campaign and at one point because I heard about it so much (like every other advertisement on NESN) I wanted to buy like 50 of them and just chuck them through Tom Werner and Charlie Steinberg's windows.

Me either. Cash used his own Pitcher in the game, btw. I just wish he could have rested and, if not, would have had that 9 pitch Inning.

At one point during the broadcast the announcers said both Cash and Roberts used every played except the pitchers who's teams requested that they not be used. If that's the case, there was no request by the Sox. Cash did nothing wrong here.
Plus, our next opponent is pretty weak.

Still one of the furthest home runs I've ever seen in person - pretty sure I let out an involuntary "oh s---" when he hit it. Kyri Washington hit 3 that night and that series was in the middle of one of Dalbec's unreal power stretches, but the Soto bomb is what stuck with me.
