Off days for FCL, after (for Valdez), a team day off (11th), then a personal DNP (12th), then a rainout (13th), sucks.

It's Zeferjahn's turn in Salem, no? Rodriguez got the start because of the doubleheader last week - I presume he's still piggybacking.
On the FCL point, if they don't just push De La Rosa's start to tomorrow, that'd mean he hadn't thrown officially yet this season (suspended game, postponed, now rain out)

On the FCL point, if they don't just push De La Rosa's start to tomorrow, that'd mean he hadn't thrown officially yet this season (suspended game, postponed, now rain out) According to Fayetteville's post game write up, Rodriguez would be starting today. They can be wrong, but it also makes sense that they're skipping Zeferjahn this turn. He could either use a rest or some time with the pitching coach as he has struggled.

Good call - I was looking on Salem's website for a writeup, so good work thinking to look at the team with the actual paid employee writing those.
Zeferjahn was assigned to the FCL this morning, which seems weird but might be a paper move and probably confirms he's getting skipped. I wonder if it's a paper move to get him off the roster for the week and maybe activate Arnold given the number of banged-up guys they have on the offensive side (Lopez out since June 29, Yorke out since July 7, Rafaela and Jimenez have been dinged up apparently based on # of days off over past month).

Worcester now says John Schreiber for game 2

Could be Schreiber opening, or could be the WooSox adjusting because they had a TBA later in the week. They added Seth Blair from Portland today, so they may have decided it's easier to do the bullpen game tonight in 7 innings rather than Saturday (I think) in 9.

Deivi Garcia is having a brutal year. Hate to see that happen to a big time Yankee prospect.

The rumors of Casas’s demise were greatly exaggerated!

Still work to be done for sure but the Sox seemed to have unlocked strikeouts for Gambrell. 29 K in his last 20 innings after 21 K in his first 30 innings.

Christian Koss 4/4 with a BB. Up to .267/.339/.401 after a tough first couple months.

The rumors of Casas’s demise were greatly exaggerated! He'd made the point that he was working on his approach, on making contact. That effort coincided with the lack of home runs. MiLB is a learning experience after all, even in AA. I get the feeling there's plenty of power to tap and that he's trying to make sure he's well-rounded as a hitter.

Nick Yorke didn't get a hit in his return but got on base twice (HBP and a walk). The walk was more impressive than a base hit though: Down in the count 0-2 and still got his "free" pass after a 10 pitchs battle. Special, special talent.

Identifying prospects that are not on anyones hot-list, acquiring them as borderline throw ins in trades and then just trying different things to make them better. This is how you create "value". Exactly what i was hoping for, Mr Bloom.
