As currently stands, the minor league rotation of Seabold/Sale/Crawford/Houck/Bello may outperform the MLB one of Eovaldi/ERod/Pivetta/RIchards/Perez right now.

As currently stands, the minor league rotation of Seabold/Sale/Crawford/Houck/Bello may outperform the MLB one of Eovaldi/ERod/Pivetta/RIchards/Perez right now. Perez got moved to the Pen it’s Eovaldi E-Rod Pivetta Houck Richards and that Sale will be back Saturday meaning Richards is probably gone. That comment is ridiculous coming after a double header where our starters shined and our offense is continuing to look lost. |

Bello also dealing though, 10K through 5. He could start 2022 on the 40 man, nice to see a international kid moving up with that timeline... it can be tough given how young/far away some are.

Not being no-hit now, but still losing 1-0.
Worcester tied 2-2, although they also have only 1 hit - a 2-run Deshields HR. Kutter gave up up 2 runs on 8 hits through 5 innings. Too many hits, but also had 7K's and no BB's. Nice peripherals. Andriese now in for a rehab appearance.

Bello being pulled after 5.1 innings with 11 Ks. Gave up 2 runs and is still responsible for the runners on first and second. It was a very hard hit ball but Williams missed a potential double play ball that would have gotten Bello out of the 6th. We’ll see if that comes back to bite him.

37% K, 6% BB, 2.5% HR
27% K, 10% BB, 3.1% is league average
Bello in Double-A (2.7 years younger than average):
34% K, 9% BB, 1.8% HR
26% K, 9% BB, 2.9% is league average

It's more about GJ lack of base running skills than Yorke's wheels really. Note that in Low-A they are testing the two-pickoffs-per-plate appearance rule. As a result, steals were up dramatically in the league in the early going at least: www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/thanks-to-mlbs-experimental-rule-changes-stolen-bases-in-the-minor-leagues-are-way-upTough to tell how it's affecting this team especially - Jimenez and Rafaela are burners and Lugo is fast. I have a feeling Yorke's steals are more of the Garin Cecchini variety (he stole 51 in Low-A in 2015 despite average speed - combined with great baseball instincts - and never again had more than 15). That said, it's of course not a bad thing that he has them. I just wouldn't read too much into it yet. |
