any word on Brasier's issues - control, velocity, etc? Pretty brutal line there, not ready for Fenway yet it seems I only saw the boxscore but it's his second appearance in a real game in almost a year, so he may just need to build up his stamina.

The starter in Game 2 for Syracuse was old friend Zack Godley. Gave up three runs in four innings, all on a 3-run bomb by the last batter he faced, Ryan Fitzgerald (my choice to displace Arauz).

Yairo will lead off the 7th in a few minutes.

Yairo converts with an infield hit to 3B on the first pitch of the 7th.

Apparently that's the one that ties Dimaggio. 34 games. 3B had to dive to his right to knock it down but never really had a play.

Are they waiting for him to pass Joe DiMaggio's 61 game minor league hitting streak before they promote him to Boston?

What was Youk’s OB streak in the minors? Also didn’t Millar have one in the minors as well?

Are they waiting for him to pass Joe DiMaggio's 61 game minor league hitting streak before they promote him to Boston? He doesn’t take walks or hit for power. Despite the hitting streak, he’s barely an above-average hitter for the league (107 wRC+). Maybe he’s a little better than Arauz, but he’s a part time player at best and not some sort of savior.

I see from the link that the previous longer streak to Mejia's was that of Roman Mejias (55). Twice as good as one Mejia? No. IIRC Roman Mejias was the dud for whom the Sox traded perpetual .300 hitter Pete Runnels to the Houston Colt 45s about 60 years ago.

Whoa Jmei. Don't assume that I anointed him a savior or have no idea what kind of player he is. That is flat out silly. With Marwin gone, thankfully, the Sox could use a utility guy and I think he's better than Santana. The sox strike out too much and they could use a contact bat off the bench that can hit first average. I'm well aware that Munoz's OBP and SA will both barely exceed his BA. I know the guy doesn't walk like at all. But I still feel the best 26 man roster that Boston has contains Munoz on it. I agree with Eric Van on this point. I didn't think they'd actually DFA Marwin like he did so he was right about that.
