They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

I can't believe this series matters, but here we are. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like NY loses anymore, but maybe that's a good thing. They can't keep up this pace, can they?
Steal all 3 and make minds explode.

Have to take 2 of 3. Can't let the Yankees get any closer.
Don't know anything about Gil other than he has a 0 ERA in 11 innings, but I know the Sox aren't seeing Taillon who is tough on them or Cole. Montgomery is tough on them.
And I hope tomorrow's game doesn't get cancelled. Andrew Heaney is awful. I want the Sox to face him.

Leading the game off with Hernandez and Renfroe against LHP is so mean. The pitcher immediately has no room for error

Even against LHP, I’d prefer that Renfroe hit sixth and the current three through six all move up one. But a relatively minor quibble.

But the really the top 6 could be put in almost any order and I'd be fine with it.

I get why they stuck JDM in RF as opposed to LF, but the fact that he's out there isn't ideal. I do get it though.

Seven-inning games are stupid.
Tanner Houck pitching in a seven-inning game is good though.

I like all three pitching matchups. Toughest one is vs Mother Nature. We ain’t playing tomorrow. #fred Hope we get both in today Current forecast for tomorrow eve is 35% chance of rain due to scattered thunderstorms. Sounds like one interruption at worst.
There's a chance the nightcap tonight might be delayed by showers (41% at 7 PM) bur rain after 9 PM is unlikely.

Sweep is the dagger. No reason that can’t happen. Love our pitching lineup.

Dalbec vs. LHP since 7/29, 28 PA:
.305 / .404 / ,616 = .436 wOBA expected
.375 / .464 / .625 = .461 actual
Vs. RHP since 8/11, 11 PA, .622 xwOBA, .841 wOBA.
However, he's coming off a legit 0/4 on Sunday (.049 xBA), 3 PA against 2 different lefties and 1 vs. a RHP (hit the first pitch). Hopefully that was a fluke rather than the start of a bad spell.

I do get it though. When Rizzo comes back I expect the MFYs will be in the same boat with Stanton. Put him in the OF so Voit can DH and Rizzo at 1st. Sorry to be a dick to Rizzo but I hope his recovery from covid isn't too quick, he is unvacced so maybe the symptoms stick for a while.
