I believe he pitched well for the Brewers at one point if you check his stats. My bad. I meant to write E-Rod. If you meant Erod see 2018 and 2019 which were strong years. |

With so many second half duds like this game, it is clear that, sadly, this version of the Red Sox simply don't have "it". They had me fooled in the first half - they made me think of the 2013 team (which definitely had "it"). I don't know if I can think of a team in my more than 50 years of watching them that resembles this one (there must be a few). And - yes, there are lots of games to go, and they may turn things around. But it just doesn't feel that way at this point.

Wow - a guy with an ERA well into the 5s, a journeyman with not great stuff - and we have 5 hits and 1 run after 6 innings.
Verdugo is a big Meh for me.

I wish I kept track of mediocre to awful pitchers that we elevated to Cy Young level quality this season. There has to be at least half a dozen.
But - heck - we got to see Robles, Richards, and now Perez pitch. That's entertainment. And we ran into two more outs on the basepaths.
