Watching Simmons field the hell out of SS makes me feel a twinge of anxiety about the idea of Bogaerts there long term.

N O. Kid is starting to figure it out. No variables. Yeah, I'd like to see him pitch too - but only after he starts slumping.

Watching Simmons field the hell out of SS makes me feel a twinge of anxiety about the idea of Bogaerts there long term. Tough comparison! I’ll take something short of Simmons… especially since he can’t hit.

It started off down. Then he started overthrowing and walked a guy and hit a guy. He hit a guy with a slider. Commanding The secondaries was a bigger issue IMO Still an encouraging outing It's been encouraging. He was kind of cruising and I was thinking he might go 7 full. Then all of a sudden he couldn't put guys away. He got ahead but they would foul off what had been swing and miss pitches. He reached back and was at 97-98 at the top of the zone but there were lots of balls and foul balls and ultimately he had the two long ABs against him and walked one and hit the next. Overall it's encouraging. I'm sure he's still building up and he should be the key next year. A true ace who goes 7+ innings game after game.

This is just a waste of Whitlock. Already picturing like Saturday needing him to preserve a W and him not being available because he threw a bunch in an 8 run game.

If Barnes doesn't pitch in 10-2 game against Minnesota, when does he pitch?

Seriously I love the guy but Ian and Chris were talking about his lack of range on the new podcast. The Sox have got to lead MLB in infield hits allowed. It's a real problem already.

Correa for SS next year
Twins are really gonna let this poor kid wear it, huh?

Watching Simmons field the hell out of SS makes me feel a twinge of anxiety about the idea of Bogaerts there long term. I've beaten that drum so much I need a new set of toms. I'm conflicted, I want Bogey to remain a Red Sox, but I'm at the end of my tolerance of seeing him at SS. He has no range to his right or left, fine, he's surehanded if the ball is hit at him, but there is a reason Devers cuts him off every chance he gets, because he just can't make the plays. It's a conundrum, he's a very good offensive player who has a mental block unless he plays at SS.

Correa for SS next year Twins are really gonna let this poor kid wear it, huh? Seager? Semien? Baez? Story? Interesting year for SSs. Would be interesting to see what Xander would fetch in a deal.

I say no to Correa, just because he's an unrepentant asshat. I really do hope Bogey stays long term, but I'd rather see him in LF than SS. Seager would be interesting.

I mean, 4 years ago when we all started posing the question who was going to be signed long term of Betts, Benintendi, and Bogey I 100% thought Betts and Benintendi would still be here and Bogey with Boras as his agent would test fa and land somewhere else. I suspect many of us did.
Aside, that ball was scalded by Bobby D.
