Bobby could easily ride an OPS hot streak right past JDM at this rate.

Have a damn day Bobby! 7 RBI’s and a good defensive play It's amazing how much he's turned things around lately. It's really starting to feel like if we played Plawecki over Vazquez and sat JD for a bit, we have a chance at a powerful lineup again.

What a night for Dalbec. A career night.
Sale was dominant until he started to run out if gas in the 5th.
Whitlock did get the 2 big outs but it's a shame he gets wasted in a 12-2 game. I know he wasn't available yesterday but if he had been the Sox would have swept the series.

Good choice. I like Tecate. I'd pop a Newcastle but I've already had half a bottle of pinot grigio...

Simmons is a great defender, but man does he look like a meth-head.

I'll take an Oskar Blues Ten Fidy Stout! Two or Three of those and you'll sleep like a baby. We don't live far from the brewery (in Brevard NC) - love sitting at the bar there with my wife and slowly sipping just one (each)!

Watching Simmons field the hell out of SS makes me feel a twinge of anxiety about the idea of Bogaerts there long term. I usually listen on the radio, so I haven't seen much of Simmons on TV but that play lived up to the hype.

As Anthony Rizzo dips under the Mendoza Line, I notice that Kevin Alcantara is hitting .327/.404/.571 for the Cubs since the trade

N O. Kid is starting to figure it out. No variables. Yeah, I'd like to see him pitch too - but only after he starts slumping. He doesn't want to pitch -- they'd have to make him do it.
Go look at his college numbers, though. He was the real deal on the hill.

Duran batting with his hands a few inches apart? Like Ty Cobb? Cobb batted cross-handed, right hand on top while in the left-handed batters box. It's a wonder no one else tries it, as well as he hit.
I noticed that with Duran in his previous AB; yes, he kept the hands apart during and through the swing. Seems like it would make you go to the opposite field.

Fun Fact, Hank Aaron also batted cross-handed early in his career.

We just had 12 hours of heavy rain...getting back to our hiking in the Pisgah and at DuPont.

He can give you something significant as a part-time player, but he can get overexposed.

Fun Fact, Hank Aaron also batted cross-handed early in his career. If you think about the mechanics of it, batting with your hands apart also sort of forces an uppercut swing more. Might be something he incorporated to get more loft.

Jesus. Cora was like “hey, Sale worked fast so we have plenty of time for a grueling Richards inning!”

Probably, but until he proves he can't hit, I'd rather see him every day than the nothingness that is Christian Vazquez.
