I'm about 20-30 minutes away in Candler, NC. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Hope you didn't have much flooding. The road was washed out in both directions from our house .for a day or so My wife went to a quilt shop in Candler last year - we are in Hendersonville, right off 64. Love it here. We just had 12 hours of heavy rain...getting back to our hiking in the Pisgah and at DuPont. I think I love DuPont more than Pisgah, but we've ventured out many a places since we moved here 7 years ago. My wife is from here, I'm an expat CT resident, so I will always be a Yankee to my in laws. I'm particular to the Cedar Knob trail in Dupont. I also love Max Patch, but from what I hear people are trashing it sadly. Black Balsam Knob off the parkway is a nice hike. There are soo many places here to hike though. The road to nowhere out in Bryson City is kind of cool.

Again I don't like this. This doesn't belong in MLB. A pitcher should be pitching.

Today we parked at the Reasonover lot and did the Fawn Lake to Lake Julia trail. We also like Imaging Lake - but really most of the trails in DuPont seem to connect here and there - our two big dogs love all of the trails! Wife and I both New Englanders (she Lowell MA, me Pawtucket RI, we were in Raleigh for 28 years, came here in Jan 2020)

Can Barnes blow a 10 run lead? We're about to find out next on Red Sox tonight.

Is it wrong to be nervous right now?

As much as they suck, it would be nice to see Perez and Richards go multiple innings in relief. It's the least they can do when we no longer care about the game.

Is it wrong to be nervous right now? I'm nervous but only because I feel bad for Barnes. I hope he asked to go in.

This is an important inning for Barnes - and - whoops - maybe he does have the yips. Wow.

Again I don't like this. This doesn't belong in MLB. A pitcher should be pitching. Especially when every team carries 14 pitchers.

We also have doggies, but we're down to one, we just had to euthanize our 12 year old lab, so the only one left is our 200lbs puppy Andre. I say puppy because he's only 2 years old, but he scares the crap out of people because they don't expect him. It's like walking a bear.

should re-signing Kiké be one of our priorities in the offseason?

You can't tell if Barnes' curve isn't any good anymore because he can't throw one for a strike and no one swings at it.

Ah - we are oldies (well, not that old - 65) - daughters are in Boone, and out in WA State - if you find yourself in our neck of the woods, let me know!

should re-signing Kiké be one of our priorities in the offseason? He's signed through next year...
EDIT:
Possible free agents at the end of the season are: E-Rod Vazquez (club option... they'll pick it up and probably extend him another year)
Schwarber (mutual option... he'll be a FA) Santana Richards (club option... maybe they bring him back on a cheaper contract like they did with Perez?) Perez (club option... he gone) Shaw Ottavino Robles Martinez (player option... seemed like a no-brainer that he'd opt out but maybe not if he doesn't get a hit the rest of the season)

I'm 44 and my wife is 43. If the Sox make the playoffs we should meet up and catch a game at the brewery.

should re-signing Kiké be one of our priorities in the offseason? He is not a free agent. He signed a 2 yrs 14 million dollar deal.

Not pretty but Barnes got thru it. Didn't exactly inspire confidence. He did throw 2 good curveballs.
