Chris Murphy in the 2nd inning: Double, walk, HBP, Walk, then k, k, k, pop up, k, k, k, k, fly out 😂 9 k's through 4 innings.

Not sure what the numbers say but feels like Groome has had a really unlucky year with balls in play
Edit: looked it up: .301 BABIP, 4.39 FIP, 3.98 xFIP. 4.84 ERA before tonight, so yeah, pretty unlucky

All three of you just beat vermontsox to posting that. Print that out and save that puppy. Gaze upon it fondly when times are tough.

Tough outing for Groome, but he was much better in his last three innings. Seems like he can get in a funk and then figure things out mid-outing.

Maybe it was just a pitch horribly outside the zone, but without looking at the Gameday I'm not only giving him props for getting a hit after that at bat but having the stones to take a ball after 12 straight fouls.

This has gone on long enough. Yorke needs to be in Portland.

I give up trying to understand the Portland outfield at this point, but Granberg in CF and Rosario to RF tonight is weird to me. Rosario has the much better arm in the outfield which makes more sense to me but would you rather have the better defender in CF or the better arm in RF. I’ve also never been to Hadlock and don’t know if it’s a Fenway situation where right field is a harder position to play. Rosario needs to become a better bench option for Boston. He's had very little RF experience, so putting him in RF helps with that.
