3K already. I wonder what they will do with him next season. At this point it has to be mental thing as much as a physical...

When Portland confirmed Chris Murphy as the Game 2 starter this morning I almost posted joking that I had wasted my time working with low-light shots of him from Tuesday when I could have waited for daylight today. Little did I know. Had a bad feeling as I drove up to the ballpark and none of the private lots had signs out for parking but I still didn't believe it when they told me the games were cancelled. Back to working on these after all! ![](https://photos.smugmug.com/Portland-Sea-Dogs/Portland-Sea-Dogs-August-31-2021/i-x8SGLpX/0/2f6087ec/L/20210831_3098-L.jpg)

Yes in the one for one trade Mookie Betts for Jeter Downs Disregard the double that was just hit in the big league game, that was done by nobody

While we're on Murphy, check out his splits this year:
Split PA H 2B 3B HR BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BAbip TB HBP SH SF IBB vs RHB 285 72 15 1 21 24 76 .280 .349 .591 .940 .319 152 3 1 0 0 vs LHB 112 13 3 0 0 11 41 .131 .232 .162 .394 .224 16 2 0 0 0 That's per BRef, at least. Seems not to line up with milb.com/s splits I don't think, and I don't know why.

This is the “guy” we got for trading a hall of famer in his prime? Yes in the one for one trade Mookie Betts for Jeter Downs Disregard the double that was just hit in the big league game, that was done by nobody Good one but still a bad deal. Verdugo wasn’t considered the focal point of the deal. Downs was the blue chip prospect of this deal. SoxProspects describe downs as “plus hit tool” and “future all star”

Downs wasn't even in the deal until the medical reports on Brusdar Graterol indicated he could not be a starter and was only capable of being a reliever. When that happened the Sox took Downs and Wong instead. Think man. If Downs was the centerpiece to the deal then why wasn't he in the original deal? If it makes you happier consider Downs and Wong part of the deal for David Price. 5 years of Verdugo for a season of Betts was always going to be the centerpiece of the deal.

Yeah you keep defending that mookie deal lol It’s one thing to re-litigate the mookie deal for the 1000th time in our minor league game day threads- that is just annoying…. it’s another thing to do it with the laughably delusional take you had. And I don’t mean to troll or flame or be mean, I just don’t know what else to call it when you say Jeter Downs was the center piece of the deal. That’s delusional. Has zero basis in reality.

What was the highest ranking verdugo received on MLB and BA prospects list? Asking about Verdugo's prospect ranking is like asking a 50 year old employee for his high school grades... Verdugo was an established major leaguer at the time he was traded.

Jeez that Mookie trade talk will leak to the MiLB game threads now? Seriously, it's exhausting!
