Buffalo has nine in the box on first down with the linebackers going full downhill and it’s still power up the middle. The last two drives have been borderline malpractice. They’re putting a lot of pressure on the defense here.

Gosh, it’s nice to get the win. But this makes me a little scared for the playoffs. Margins seem very thin if they don’t fully trust Mac.

Great win - on a side note I believe the Bills have a massive deficiency they need to address. A team that wants to play important games in January IN BUFFALO needs to be good in the trenches. They have no running game besides Allen and can't stop the run on defense - if they plan to host games in January in the future that needs to be fixed. Pats match up well against them in my mind and we'll see how it looks in a few weeks when they come to NE.

I don't know how you stop that OL with those RBs when you're using Onwenu as a 6th OL guy. He's starting for just about any team not named the Patriots. Add in the WR, FB and TEs. Add in creative play calling and it was something else.
I'd expect a much different game in NE.

Sean McDermott was very salty after the game. Kind of petulant after BB had gone out of his way to praise him, and in the genuine BB way not the patronizing version. I expected better.

I was on the “they need to throw it more train”, but the reality is, if they don’t muff that punt this isn’t even all that close considering how hard it was to score. Basically, Bill and Josh knew if you win time if possession and don’t turn it over then they’ll win. It also helps that buffalo can’t consistently stop the run. I think a couple more screen passes would have been smart but in those conditions it makes sense what they did. Allen had the arm strength to throw in those conditions but even with him he almost had a couple balls that could have been pick 6s. The JC break up and there was another one where if Mills sees the ball and not solely focused on the receiver he has an easy pick 6 as the wind blew the ball right back into him away from Sanders. Just one of those ends the game so why do it when you’re winning?

Let’s hope this wasn’t a costly win.
Phillips has been great this year and plays A LOT, he may have torn his ACL. That would be a massive loss for a thin secondary.
Harris clearly pulled him hamstring. Those injuries can linger a long time. It’s good to have the bye week next week. Let’s hope it heals quickly and they don’t rush him back until it does.

It was a statement win no matter how you cut it. The fact that they could move the ball at all given the Bills knew they were going to run, had a 9-10 man box and have a very good defense is just amazing. The Pats showed more fortitude but lets not forget it came down to 1st and goal for the Bills with a TD to win and the Pats held on.
Now the bye comes at a great time, that is no small advantage moving into the last 4 games of the season. Every team in football would love to have a week off right about now and the Pats players have to be psyched for a break after winning 7 in a row. The players have to be riding a serious high and that matters a lot.
Not too concerned about Harris, with Stevenson the Pats can give him time to heal and be fresh for the playoffs. Phillips is another story if he has a torn achilles, that would be a big loss but BB will have the D ready and someone needs to step up.
