Who would pitch game 6 for Houston, though?

Sox are 1/22 on balls hit under 95 mph last two days. Astros are 6/31. 5 of those 6 hits were in their two big innings

Also, there’s a reason Sale hasn’t been as good since 2018 other than his injury. Watch, we get another catcher in here, he’ll be dominant again

Baker has announced already that Luis Garcia will start Game 6. Remarkable recovery for a guy who definitely didn't leave with a fake injury in Game 2.

If Schwarber catches the ball like a little leaguer, the game is probably 2-0.

Ok Astros score a run here, make it 7-0 and we pull off a 2008 comeback

Watch him pitch a shutout too. Dude, you're far too negative. Take it easy brother, this is a bad mindset to have for watching sports. There's no joy, only relief when they don't lose.

Not seeing Houck at all in Boston is very disappointing. We could have used him last night pre-Whitlock, we could have used him to start the 6th tonight.
I realize he hasn't been as dominant as he was in game 2 of the ALDS, but he's still one of our top options and to get no innings from him at Fenway is unfortunate.

Go on the road in front of a hostile Astros crowd with an Astros team that has finally started to hit like the way they're capable and try to get them out with a wretched bullpen that can't get anybody out and win twice? Sure, of course that will happen.....just because the Red Sox are our favorite team. because our media decided to mess with the baseball gods The heck with the baseball gods. People - and I'm saying the media AND fans - need to understand that this is not a game where you can confidently state the outcome of anything by linear projection from what you just observed. There was no reason for anyone to say "well, Houston's pitching is fried and the Sox are just going to steamroll them." Baseball as a sport takes too many twists and turns to make declarations like that. Yes, I know -- fans get over exuberant when things are going good, and overly distraught when they aren't. AND so did the media in the last couple of days. But really, that's the point, and it's a reason to ignore just about everything said during the course of an event like this. People make pronouncements and can't see that they are projecting rather than being rational.

Time to adopt a 2004 mindset. Remember Tito saying we had to focus on just winning one game? That's where we at now.

The problem is that because of confirmation bias, every time there IS a linear outcome, people will use that as proof of their viewpoint. And then forget about all the non-linear outcomes.

Hey man… this has been a wild season. Why would a 2-game win streak be so odd?

Looks to me like Cora’s record of always bouncing back with a win after a postseason loss is coming to end. Always was bound to.

Time to adopt a 2004 mindset. Remember Tito saying we had to focus on just winning one game? That's where we at now. Tito had a 9-3 record in elimination games with us, Cora is 1-0 so far, so he’s going to need to pull one out of the Tito playbook
